This isn't really a tutorial, but if you decide to try and copy what I've done, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE ARE REPORTS OF LIPO batteries CATCHING FIRE/EXPLODING IF THEY SUSTAIN ENOUGH IMPACT.
That being said, I've dropped this box several times and knocked it off the counter once or twice with no ill effects.
I used a Hammond 1590B box, Varitube 510 connection, old switch from a telescopic Golden Greek mod, Turnigy Nanotech 3.0 (3000mah 20c), 8 or 10 gauge (i can't remember which i bought and can't tell by eye) copper wire and some other stuff I had lying around.
The burn mark on the yellow shrink wrap is from me holding the torch too close for too long on it. I built a cube out of index cards and taped it to the inside of the box up top and filled it in with epoxy to where I would need the copper bar to float. After the epoxy dried, I secured the bar to the cube with more epoxy. Along the side there, I filled the space in with more epoxy to make the battery secure inside the box. I need to do the same to the other side but just haven't gotten around to it yet.
She hits GREAT and lasts FOREVER. A full charge on one of these packs will last at least 3 hours of heavy vaping, and even then it only gets down to about 8v. Then a mere 20 MINUTES to get fully charged again. I LOVE lipos!
It's a pretty straightforward design. Nothing gets hot except the coils. The solder is tight and solid. I believe the epoxy i used is rated for 3200psi or something like that, and I don't think I come even CLOSE to pushing the button that hard.
I've been using this for several months now and she seems pretty damn solid.
I'm curious to know what you guys think.
