I don't own the device, but I'll try and help. Gonna need a little more info though.
What ohm is the atomizer, and what is it being read at?
Are your contacts clean (on the atomizer and the battery)?

Might seem like a dumb question, but you sure it's the .5 ohm head? The SubTank comes with a replaceable head in the box, and it's 1.2 ohms. 1.6 ohms wouldn't be too far off (given manufacturer deviation + your mod rounding up).
I bought head from vape shop. On other battery shows .5-.6ohm. Anyway it doesnt explain why it always short circuit, no matter what tank i use.
Yeah that is odd. Heatvape offers a 90-day warranty. Maybe contact the vendor and see if they'll honor it?
I bought defender from pre-seller(idk how it calls) and he doesnt give any warranty. As I see I have to put defender into garbish.
Unless someone else has some other suggestions I have no idea what to tell you.
Contact the seller anyway. Be sure that they're not willing to replace your device. And then never purchase from that vendor again. Lol.
I've dealt with Heat Vape, and in my opnion they are one of the best companies to deal with, they respond to you and will try and help resolve any issue. I was having troubles with my invader mini and within a day they helped me get it working.
Don't matter who sold it to you, heatvape should honor their warranty, the rev 1 has several issues, there is a rev2 now,
I have the same problem. I contacted heatvape, they asked me to take a video about the problem. After I sent the video, there were no response at all. Suprisingly, they were very nice at first until I prove them my defender is defect.
It is supposed to fire down to .5 but maybe it's reading the coil below that. Try a higher ohm coil. If it works, then that tells you something.
