Just saw this on a YouTube channel I'm subscribed to. He didn't give all specs but just a quick look at it. I'm curious how the temp control compares to others. Check it out here..

I've had mine since Monday and have been impressed with it. Solid mod. Innovative and simple 510 connection. Battery cap has a spring so that all batteries will fit with no rattle. Been working fine in wattage and temp control modes. It's only been a couple of days but I have no complaints at all.

It does go to sleep, but with mine, it seems that the frequency seems to vary depending on the battery charge...if fully charged it waits about 50 minutes...as the battery is drained it goes to sleep more frequently. The only issue I have had, is that on rare occasion, when it goes to sleep, it goes back to default settings...edit...I did some more testing, and the go to sleep time now does not appear to be tied to battery charge...it is more random, maybe a chip bug. They need to sort this out and and they will have a nice, unique mod on their hands...

hey thanks for sharing your experience thus far, I appreciate it! I think I might wait it out a bit before I get one.... I sure want one for camping, fishing etc :) love the shock/water resistant aspect....

My concern is with potential battery venting. It has no vent holes (since it's waterproof). Heat vape claims that the buttons will tear away under pressure and allow venting, but I will remain skeptical until I see someone really tear it apart and test it. Phil is supposed to be reviewing this and I can imagine he will do just that.

Exactly what I've experienced. 1/2 to full charge will sleep only after around 30 minutes + At below 1/2 charge the time gap goes down to where at below 1/4 bar, it will go to sleep after 5-10 minutes. Really hasn't been a problem.

I also reported that I was getting what I wondered were PWM 'gaps' where it wasn't fully firing, and it only did it on one battery. The other batt, no such phenomena. So I'm swapping that one out with another batt. All is well.

According to heatvape, the unit is supposed to go to sleep at 120 seconds, if no atty is attached...with atty and no activity it goes to sleep in 50 minutes...however, this is not the behavior I am seeing. Mine has also gotten confused while in temp mode, and fired in full wattage/voltage mode. They really need to sort out the firmware on this mod...

Unfortunately I had a knee-jerk reaction and snatched one up right away from MVS for 50$ with a discount. So I am not out the rent money but the performance although decent is not up to Evolv or YiHi standards. The temperature control is extremely loose with the wattage swings trying to keep temp stable at 500. The VaporShark has much tighter control and cost 4 times as much but is ROCK SOLID in performance. I usually lose my settings when it goes to sleep and have to readjust but I am trying different tricks to see if there is a cheat ; ) My latest is to (5 click) lock it if i am not going to be hitting it soon and so far when i come back and unlock it has kept the settings. Its totally weird because i can change the battery and it will actually remember the settings when i power it on. When in Wattage mode i have noticed about one out of 4 hits will have a moment of silence and then start firing again. I threw my packaging away hastily so it can't really go back but if the Heavy Duty factor is true then to have a mod to beat the crap out of and not worry too much may be worth the cost i guess. The YiHi experience after researching and buying cheaper China crap has been great. Reliable and powerful and consistent wattage is what I got when I got my IPV Mini 2, 70 watt. Buyer Beware and Vape On!

I get that 'silent hit' sometimes but not as often and more when it was new than now. I find the same as far as keeping settings go. You're right, VS is more solid with TC. And with all that, imo, the invader mini is still worth the cost. If anyone finds a workaround or coding sequence to disable sleep mode, I'd be interested :- )

I got mine yesterday and its the v2. It supposedly addresses the firmware and sleep issues. So far its "OK"..it will be fine for when I go to work or do tasks around the house. Its definalty a rugged mod and I do like it but I thing it lacks power. For example, I can vape fine at 7w using my IPV mini v2 w/ a Subtank, the Invader doesn't even come close. Also, my favorite wattage is 22.5, I have to have the Invader set at 30w to get the same vape. In all, its great for utititarian purposes but I would not recommended it as an ADV.

I got mine today, V2. Simply loving it. What I enjoy most is no pesky cables or usb annoying sockets that wear out before the mod does. Simply drop in a battery and away you go. My tank choice is the Meganus by Vapestone with a 0.5 ohm coil. It works great with all my sub ohm tanks and absolutely no dry hits. Love its rugged construction and very comfortable in the hand. Its definitely a go anywhere out doors device. You won't regret adding this baby to your mod collection.

I I just picked up the v2 a few days ago, and I do love it. It's tough and heavy, but feels great in my hand. Kind of like a rubber coated Panzer.
What I don't like is how fast it drains batteries. If I use it all day moderately vaping, I go through at least 3 batteries. Granted, most of the time, I'm using nickel coils (0.13ohms). But even when I use other kanthal coils at 1.6ohms the batteries don't last. I mainly use my vaporshark DNA40, and that thing can go 15 hours without a recharge. The Invader mini needs a new battery ever 2-3 hours
