Heavy Vapor ~ Is it just a myth or do I need a 501?

Tried to edit the subject, but can't....IT SHOULD SAY 510, not 501!! DUHHH!!

When I say *heavy* vapor, I don't mean the amount of vapor, I mean the weight or density of the vapor....

How would you describe the vapor your device produces?

Would those of you who would describe it as *heavy* attribute that to your particular PV or to the ejuice you're using?

I got my first ecig, an M402, which is finally, after about two weeks, starting to kick in (I think so anyway!) so that now the draw is not so hard and I'm finally getting some vapor, but the vapor is thin and light with no real "feel" to it in my mouth or lungs. Like, if I close my eyes, I don't know if I inhaled/exhaled anything or not and no throat hit no matter what liquid and/or flavor and/or strength nic I've tried. :(

So....as these things go ;)....I'm thinking maybe I should get a 501 since this is reported to produce tons of vapor and a good throat hit.

But, I don't really care how MUCH vapor it produces, I'm more concerned with the "feel" or the "weight" of the vapor. I want a heavy dense vapor that I can feel in my mouth.

So, after all that rambling , the question is, .... should I be looking for a new ecig or a new liquid?

The liquids I've tried are JC assorted flavors/strengths and Nuvape assorted flavors/strengths. The Nuvape produces more vapor than JC, but still thin and weightless. Some PG, some NPG...same results.

Don't want to spend $$$ on a 501 only to end up with tons of vapor that is still light and wispy in density.

Am I searching for the Holy Grail of E-Vapor that doesn't exist?

No, I haven't tried VG, which is vegetable glycerin, right? If I were to try that, do I have to mix my own juice? Where do you get it?

I really didn't want to get into all that. Not enough time in my day as it is...but I would try it if that's the only way to get what I want.

BTW, Elendil, I'll be waiting to hear what you/your wife think of the 501 since I'm seriously considering it.

I know you can purchase VG based flavored liquid. Someone will be along that can tell you where.

As far as do it yourself, just purchase some unflavored liquid and cut to your desired strength using VG. You can get Wilton's Vegetable Glycerin at most craft stores (Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc) or you can purchase on line here: Now Foods, Vegetable Glycerin, 473 ml - Supplements - Glycine - Now Foods - VitaPal.com

I do not know what strength nic juice you use. But lets say you use 18mg. You can purchase 36mg unflavored and then mix in a 1:1 ratio with the VG and now you have 18mg juice. You can then add your own flavors form somewhere like loranns www.lorannoils.com to the strength that you like....................

Hi Speedikeys, I made a video showing the difference between straight liquid and liquid cut with vg (I used two 401s). Take a look as I think it will help and give you what you are looking for. I have three models (401, 901, and a new 510) and I get good performance from all of them. Adding VG will definitely give you a fuller vapor.

Hope this helps.

That has not been my experience. I've found that "dryness" can be attributed to the liquid not the device. For example, I have a Marlboro that seems to vape dryer than other liquids I have. The vapor of the 510 is nice and thick, and if you vape a vg mix, its just that much more dense.

from what i understand (reviews) the 510 gives off a very "dry" vapor which does not have the density your looking for...i think

Great video Cellwho! Thanks for the link.

So, just to make sure I understand, mixing with VG makes a denser vapor, not just MORE vapor, correct?

And, I'm guessing it also decreases the flavor, which I'm not getting much of anyway so then I need Lorrann's flavoring, etc.

JTWH20, that's was I was afraid of. I would describe the vapor off my M402 as "dry"...good description....and I don't want to end up ordering the 501 and having the same as I have already.

Although I do agree with Cell that some flavors vape dryer than others.. Nuvape Marlboro 12 mg is very dry in my 402 but the JC Kona Coffee isn't.

Aayyyayy....it goes on and on....I need....I want....maybe it's this...maybe it's that....somedays I just want to give up! :-x

Juicy Liquid has good VG. I use the unflavored mixed with some menthol PG in my 510 and get really good vapor. I get better vapor in my super-mini also, but nothing compared with the 510. They do have some flavors though. I just haven't tried them yet.

Yes, denser. You feel much more going in and coming out. The flavour does diminish, so I'll generally use juice that has a strong flavour. I find the tobacco flavours work best for that.

I've found that it's not just about trial and error, but also what I'm in the mood for. You'll get the hang of it.

The 401 is a great device, and it was my first. That being said, I love my 510 (the model is 510 not 501) with the manual button. The only down side is the battery life, so if you purchase one, make sure you get the PCC and you will be very happy.

:D:D:D Yes...its 510, Thanks for correcting me...I tend to be a little dyslexic at times!

Thanks to those who posted links to VG juices. I'm definitely gonna try some of those. I tried NonPG juice thinking it would produce a dense vapor, but I see now NonPG does not mean VG. Duh!

I'm not sure I would call my 402 a "great device," at least not yet. I'm just not that happy with it...

So maybe I'll get the Joye510 and keep the 402. Can't hurt to have more than one, right? ;) Oh and that PCC is just too cool! I definitely want one of those!

The Joye510 is the same as the Janty Dura/C and the TECC Titan, right?

I don't think any e-cig vapor, no matter how much vapor it produces, will have as much of lung-hit like analogs. That's because PG and VG vapor is not as heavy.

I've been getting pretty dense vapor with my SD, and very intense throat hits - but not the lung hit. Unless the re-formulate the liquid with something else... I just don't see that happening. But... good thing is, you get used to it. I certainly did, and I don't miss that lung hit anymore.

There is an easy way to get more vapor without doing a lot of math and mixing. Pour some of your favorite juice into a small bottle, add 5 or 6 drops of VG to it and shake it up. If the vapor is still not enough, just add some more until it satisfies.

Amount of vapor is a key modality for me and i usually take a more scientific route, but this works.

I use ECOpure in my EVO (M401) and the vapor density and production is very good.
Whilst using that combination earlier today (late afternoon/early evening with the sun streaming through the window) I actually lost sight of my TV screen on the other side of the room!!! 8-o

I know, I am not sure if it is because intellicig is doing all of there liquid testing using their products (EVOs) or what but I am extremely pleased with my new EVO&ECO addiction. I know that the current buzz is 510, but for me my simple little EVO loded with very high ECOpure whatever (flavor that is) is perfection. Glad to hear a confirmation from someone else. Cheers!

I went to the Intellicig/EVO website to check out the Ecopure (don't know where else it's available...anybody?)

Anyway, just to clarify, it seems that Ecopure eliquid is not VG based but is PG based, is that correct? But even though it's PG based, for you guys it produces a denser heavier vapor than other PG based liquids?

Does anybody know if the EVO prefilled carts would fit my M402 (which is not an EVO but a generic I guess?) It's an SS Elite from Suresmoker. From the pictures of the carts, they look the same, but you know you can't tell everything from pictures! ;)

In the meantime, I think I'll try to find some VG at the craft store and try a few drops in the PG liquid I have. I can mix them (VG + PG) right?

Wrong way round - it's VG based

Yes, the Evo carts will fit, but it's not ECOpure in the carts.

AHA!! Light bulb going on!! Thanks Angela! :D

So the EVO prefilled carts contain PG (which is what I read in the EVO FAQ and what was confusing me), but the EVO carts do not contain ECOpure!! Makes sense now.

So the only way to try ECOpure is to buy a whole bottle of it and they have no small size sample bottles.
