Ive had the 510 Mega starter kit from madvapes for close to a week now and im doing good. Only 20 analogs in a 7 day span. Not bad compared to 150-175 i woulda smoked. I have some good flavors (i like the Wyatt Earp, Maxboro, Cherry Lime-aid, banana, and the Thin Mint from FreedomsmokeUSA) however, im having trouble getting consistancy. Sometimes it tastes right, sometimes it has a metallic harsh taste thats hard to explain but it is rough on the throat. Im using the atomizer and cartridge that came with the kit. I have ordered a LR atomizer (not sure what the benefit is?) hopiong it might help. I have tried both atomizers that came with the kit. Just wondering if anyone has any tips or insight to what may be causing this or if there is anything i can do (such as how im actually inhaling the vaor) to get more consistency. I love it when it tastes like its working but hate the harshness and it makes me want an analog. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, consistency is a big issue. I tried the E2 cartomizers and won't go back to atomizers, they are way too iffy as to what you'll get drag to drag. They are a bit of an adjustment from a filling standpoint but you will get consistency and you can also clean/maintain them, they basically work the same way as an atomizer (wire wrapped around around a wick), however they have much better wicking ability.

You'll have to try different things until you hit your "sweet spot".

It sounds like you're letting the atty get too dry. When the flavor starts changing and vapor production begins to drop you need to top off the cart. That would explain the bad taste. You'll want to rethink that LR atty, though. They aren't supposed to be used on batteries that are less than 450mah. If you use that on your 510 batt it will ruin it.

Did you blow out your attys before attaching them to the battery? You might want to do that, too. I blow out my attys at least once a day. With brand new attys, I blow them out the minute I get them.

I have some cartos on the way i (LR2.0 Refillable 510 Cartomizers 2.0ohm) Whats the difference between the lower and higher ohms. also whats the difference between the Boge cartos and the ceramic E2's.

Lower resistance means they burn hotter. The technology is pretty simple, some juice gets heated in a wick that is surrounded by a heating coil, the shorter the coil, the less the resistance, the hotter it heats, the trick is to avoid "burn", heat good, burn bad....

If you are "sold" on vaping you may as well try both ceramic and boge, find what you like, you'll most likely be doing it for awhile :)

so lower ohms = lower resistance? so if im understanding right the key is to get as hot as possible w/o burning?

i have the mega batteries not sure which ones i should use???

You can use the 2ohms on the mega batts. Heck, I use them on standard 510 batteries and all that "happens" is the batt runs out of life about 15 minutes sooner. I know they CAN damage standard batts, so I'm not telling you to do this, I just happen to live on the edge like that bwahahaha. ;)

Boge cartos have filler inside them and the E2's do not. They do have a hella long wick in them though. Some folks have great luck with these carto's, I was not one of them. I love the Boges though and get 30 or more drops in them for a nice, long, consistant and hassle free vape. :)

Boge is just a manufacturer of cartos. Regular cartos have filler in them that surrounds the atomizer. You drip juice inside to fill them. The CE2 cartos don't have any filler. It uses a ceramic cup instead, so there isn't any burning filler. You can use a special needle to fill them, but I just remove the inner rings and use a syringe to inject juice down the side. I really like them and I've been using the 3.0ohm with my eGo.

Welll, this where it gets tricky because the devices have variables that can change. The battery runs a bit low, the heating coils get a bit gunked up, etc, etc, it is not precise in a way that many consider "precise" to be, however you can with some experimentation find a proper setup that suits you. Vaping is all about personal preference, what works for some, may not work for you, some like it hot:), some like a cooler draw. Some like weak juice, some strong, so many variables, so little time...

'get as hot as possible w/o burning?'

Not necessarily. lol. If ever there was a lesson in 'everything's relative', I think vaping must be one of the better ones. lol. For a lots of folks, loads of vapor is important. For others, not so much. For me it depends on what I'm vaping, and I think MLB illustrates that more than any other juice that I vape. I think MLB is a really good 'nasty cigarette type' vape at low and relatively cool vapor. I love it every once in a while with coffee or booze. It even leaves a little bitter aftertaste just like a ciggy. Heat it up a little tho, and it turns into puke juice really quick. lol. Most of the time I like medium vapor, but never a lot. If I'm getting lots of vapor, it means I'm getting it too hot, and I tend to feel that as dry and raspy rather than hot. What can I say, we're all different. Vape on. JD :vapor:
