Hello 016 in stainless steel ?

Anyone know who stocks these? I cant even find a picture of one.

I know electro-vapors has them in black and white but...............

I think they only come in black or white. I noticed that, underneath the flat black coated versions I have, there's another coating that is a shiny black. I'll bet if I were to sand that, there might be some sort of metal under it.

I thought about stripping the finish (have done so with a black Ego kit) but would prefer a stainless batt from the get go. I did read somewhere that they existed.

Can anyone post a link or pic.

Yes, you can strip them. Stainless steel under the paint. I just started stripping mine. They do come in other colours.

Thanks! Im concerned about scrapping around that funny shaped button, I guess I figure that flakes of finish may get in the switch and mess it up. The Ego kit I did turned out perfect but the button is out of the way.

Are you stripping it with a blade? Will EV ever carry the stainless?

I am using a very fine sandpaper. What I am going to do is get a bad atomizer, hook it up to my drill screw it into the 016 and while turning use the sandpaper to strip off the paint. Will do manual sanding around the battery so I do not screw that up. ;-)

I have not tried the blade method yet. maybe I will try that too.

If your a modder these spare pasrt come in handy. I made my test harness out of a recycled 901 atty.

My first 016 battery fried and I disassembled it. It has a battery pack and a small circuit board behind the switch. It is definitely stainless under the finish.

Sometimes you can wreck a battery, 510 especially if you press the button too hard. It may damage the circuit board ( IC Chip) and start the end of your battery. If you have a battery that is coming on by itself, this is possible what happened. Talking to a Rep in China, he said that us North American are stronger than Chinese so we are too rough on them. If it was just a line or not, who knows but be gentle with your equipment, it is fragile.
