Hi I was wondering If I can use a HelloTech 016 420ma charger with an ego battery. I contacted the retailer and they could not confirm if it could be used with an ego battery. I was wondering if anyone here has tested this. I would really like to get a fast charger for my ego batteries.

Thanks in advance.

I just happened to notice the thread passing by.
I don;t know for sure, but I wouldn't try it.

The chargers or batteries may have circuits that work best on their own charger, and still, I would not like charging a less capable battery with a more powerful charger than recommended. The opposite may be all right, charging a more capable battery with a weaker charger, but the thing is that I don't know about their charging circuitry. I would hope that you can at least charge a 1,300 mah Hello016 with a charger for a 900mahEgo, it just may take longer...but it's just a hope. I don't know the official answer.

Just out of curiosity - do you prefer the Ego over the Hello?
Ooooh, I cannot answer that. I only have an ego. I was looking at the hello charger because I was looking at specific items and wanted to buy in one place to save on shipping. I do know the hello is a 1300mAh battery and the ego is a 650mAh battery. So in theory the hello battery should last twice as long. However the one drawback I've seen with the hello 016 is that it uses a specific atty. The atty is built into the cone. You can use a 510 atty on it, but then it doesn't have a nice finished look. Also the hello specific attys seem to be $11 a pop.

Best guess is that the chargers are the same based on both being 420 mAh charge rate and 510 threads as well ashaving USB plugs for an ac/USB wall wart. Charging will take longer for the Hello because of the
battery capacity.
I only have the Hello 16
It takes 2 hours for an ego, Does it take 4 hours for a hello?

Just out of curiosity - do you prefer the Ego over the Hello?

I just got the Ego, I've had the Hello 016 for about a month. I like the Hello better. I was struck at how much smaller the Ego's batt is, but most importantly I only seem to be getting half the amount of time before charging with the Ego.

The Ego includes two batteries opposed to one with the Hello. However Tasty Vapors has generic Ego batts for $15 while extra Hello Batts run just over $20,

Most important to me, if I had the chance, I would still buy both kits. Between the three batts, I shouldn't have any problem not having a charged battery ready to go. I just them with LR attys.

The Hello takes 2 to 3 hrs. to fully charge. I'm just about to find out how long the ego takes. To be safe, I'm charging the Ego with it's charger. still trying to determine if there is a taste difference; so far I haven't noticed any.
