Hi everyone. First I would like to say thank you for welcoming me to these forums. Second, I would like to say, thank goodness for this forum and the sheer amount of information on it. Third, this post could be a little lengthy, so sorry if it bores you haha.

Ive been researching e-cigs off and on for a few months now, but always came to the conclusion that they probably wouldn't do it for me. Im 24, and I have heart disease, you think that alone would be enough to make me quit smoking. Sadly, it hasn't. Im just totally addicted. I smoke 2 packs of Newports (sometimes 2 1/2) a day. At 8 bucks a pop, not only is it making my bank account suffer, but its obviously doing horrible things to my health. Well, today a guy came into work with one. He bought it at a local convenient store (its a no name e-cig, just came in a blue box haha) and told me to try it out. He bought menthol, with a HIGH rating of nicotine. He hadn't charged it yet, but just opened the box and was curious to try it. Well, none the less, I was impressed, and it gave me the idea to actually buy my own. This could work for me I thought, and im hoping it will.

My goal, is to use this is a quitting smoking tool. The most ive gone is 6 months (thats when I was in bootcamp and the police academy.) As soon as I got done with my training, I went to the bx and bought smokes. Ugh! Im hoping that I can use this for a few months, and maybe, get to the point where im using menthol, with no nicotine.

So, after some research (although im still confused as all heck haha) I bought this (had to edit it and just write it out, wont let me post links yet):

That site was all out of menthol, so I bought this from another site

e-smokey treats Menthol, 11 mg. I figured Id try the 11mg, and make a major step in my nicotine intake, as long as I dont abuse it.

After seeing what I bought, what do you all think I will still need?

Well, that about ends the introduction, and I look forward to reading all of your responses. Thanks in advance!

Hi there, welcome. I'm sorry about your medical condition. I truly do believe that e-cigs will at least RADICALLY cut down your consumption of cigarettes if not help you to quit completely. Just don't put too much pressure on yourself. If you turn out to be one of the members here that has not quit completely, just don't freak out about it, and don't give up. I started vaping a couple of months ago. I did quit smoking completely for 2 weeks and then fell back into a pattern where I smoking 3 cigs a day. Down from over a pack a day for 40 years. Still.....A HUGE improvement. I do believe that I'll get back to 0 cigs. As far as your order goes. It sounds good, except that I think your nic level is way too low. 18 - 24 mg. is more realistic to snuff out your cravings for cigs.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

Looks like youve got pretty much all you need..for now..you'll be after more ejuice soon enough but cool your jets til you get the actual kit lol Get used to vaping get past the learning curve (you dont smoke it, you make longer slower draws, and make sure you blow out the attys when you open the kit or you'll be vaping on yukky primer)
Come here before you attempt any 'fixin's' if something isn't working the way you think it should, and ASK :)
Good luck

Looks like you've REALLY done your homework! Good for you.

Maybe pick up a few more atomizers. It is a good idea to have a few spares sitting around, and if you want to try new flavors, you won't have to worry about mixing them in the atomizer and having the flavor be off. Watch for sales on atomizers or look in the classifieds on the forum.

Also, keep lots of liquid on hand! A 10ml bottle won't last long. Most people go through 3-4ml a day. Check out TastyVapor's line of FAB flavors. The doubler (4oz of zero nicotine liquid flavoring) and then buy the same flavor of nicotine base flavor in 1oz bottle (I get 48mg) makes it he best deal out there for 150ml for only $30. You mix the high nicotine liquid with the doubler to make exactly what level you need. Highly recommended.

I also recommend with as much as you smoked, if you find you have some trouble keeping off the cigs to try some 24mg of what ever liquid you really like to use when you have cig. cravings. I used 24mg Menthol when ever I wanted a cigarette (I only use menthol in one dedicated atomizer, other flavors have their own attys). I found for me, Menthol really helps to kick the cigarette cravings for those first few months.

Eventually, I settled in to 18mg (trying to go with lower nic didn't work at all for me). Everyone needs to find their sweet spot for the nicotine level.

Homeish now
Think you might run into problems with the 11 mg nic level starting out.......24 mg would be a better place to start and then cut back.

And you most defiantly going to need more juice ;)

Oh you might look into getting a PCC..if your on the go a lot. it will charge your spare when your not by and outlet Madvape has got two colors.. PCC's

ecigs are not a magic bullet, don't expect to take one puff and just quit!

I have juvenille diabetes so I understand the health urgency. Just keep on keeping on! I'm one month into my e cig/ vaping transition and it really does work. I've avoided countless analogs, especially now that I upgraded from 18mg to 24/ 36.

Remember it took a while to develop the habit and it will take a while to develop a new one.

Welcome! I'm really hoping for your success. This has worked for me. I do agree with Hellen and Rose about yhe nic level. I was a one pack+ guy and found that I had cravings at 18mg. I bumped up to 24mg and the cravings disappeared. That was in Feb. and I'm back down to 18mg now. I'm mixing juice (which is cheaper and really easy) and cutting back the nic level a little with each batch. Good luck man. You're off to a good start.

Welcome !!!

I also did some research before I ordered. Also asked alot of questions on this forum, before and after I received my eGo.

I am going on 4 wks now. Some folks seem to take to e-cigs right away. For me it was kinda rough and a definate learning curve. But within 2 wks I began to understand things better and finally found an e-liquid that did not taste nasty to me.

Remember.....ask, ask, ask.....all are happy to 'pass it on'

best to you !

Thanks for all the responses and good words folks. Its much appreciated.

I did some more reading on it today, and it showed just how green I am to this. Ive been looking at some sites (I have a limited selection, just the two I mentioned actually) for spare parts for the 510. I really don't know all the good sites, so maybe someone can direct me in that direction.

Now, onto a few questions. Can I mix and match, since I ordered the joye510 mega battery, can I use the atomizers and cartridges with a regular sized joye510 battery? Im assuming I can, but id rather play it safe.

Also, is there any websites that sell the PCC for the mega battery? I could not find any in a google search that were in stock, or legit looking.

I figured out I take a 11 puffs on my analog before I put it out, and smoke around 40 cigarettes a day. Now, since you all have experience, where do you think that puts me in battery/cartridge usage a day? My main concern is when im at work. I usually smoke around 20 cigarettes at work, for an 8 hour day.

Also, Im going to order some higher nicotine level juice, due to some great advice posted on here.

Once again, thanks so much all!

Going on 3 months for me after smoking 33 years. As another person has already said, "Vape your head off." You will decide one day to just not buy any more analogs because from vaping you will realize that you can make it through. It is true, you really can. Did not think I could ever stop smoking. The ecigg is the only thing I have tried that has worked.

Hi dbb,

The PCC was important to me as well. The only one that I found for the 510 is the long, plain rectangular tin-looking box. I did a lot of looking, too. I did not see any PCC for the 510 besides that one and it doesn't look like it will close with a mega batt. There's a video review on the 501 PCC though I don't recall the name of the person who did the review. An alternative might be something like the extra large carrying case at vapor4life or find something similar that will neatly stow your already charged batts + attys & carts/liquid.

If the 4081 I ordered (with PCC) doesn't perform as I hope, then I will be upgrading to the 510 and will then have to find a way to attractively (hopefully) accomodate my setup fully charged ... we'll see.
