I've come back to the fabulous world of vaping and after receiving my initial kit along w/ additional supplies on Feb. 23rd, I have not smoked a single analog cig. I had a really hard time the first time I tried e-cigs b/c I bought a shotty brand and just didn't do enough research. (Hell, I really didn't think I needed to. My fault.) I knew what to expect and it was only AFTER I came here that I learned more and knew what I would need to stop smoking again. The original one lasted 4 months until both of the batteries stopped charging. Needless to say, it was aggravating.

My original post is here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/210172-new-experience-dreaded-side-effects.html#post3770969 and it brings up some of the same issues I continue to have. While I took the highly recommended advice of other forum members of getting the KGO kit (pink, of course) and have absolutely LOVED it - as well as learning even more about the difference between cartomizers, attomizers and cartridges, ect. - I still continue to have problems w/ neck and shoulder pain/stiffness. Now, for an ordinary person w/ no problems w/ their neck and back, I can see how this would be odd. I have been in multiple accidents since I was a teen and the most affected part has been my neck so while this pain usually comes and goes, using a pv makes it constant.

It was originally suggested that it was a buildup of lactic acid in the muscles and that drinking more fluids would flush this out; But I already drink a high amount of water just b/c vaping itself dries out my throat. Before I was using 11mg and it never felt sufficient enough. Now I use both 18 and 24mg and it's great, other than the neck/shoulder stiffness. Using the KGO - and the dual coils when I need it most - I know I will never go back to analog again. I just don't want to go to a doctor to have him ignorantly tell me about how any form of nicotine is bad and that I should just stop altogether... and of course, there's nothing he can do about my pain/discomfort until I stop.

I have to say this forum has been a life saver for me and my children. I am all too aware of the bad chemicals in analogs and always hated smoking around them, even w/ windows open (even in the middle of winter). Now, they are happy, and I am ecstatic - save for the stiffness in my neck. Ibuprofen helps, but I would have to take it constantly to feel a 24hr relief and that's not s/thing I want to subject my liver to.

The one thing I haven't done is go back to a chiropracter, who very well may be the answer to my proverbial prayers. They are certainly not as biased as doctors and I have never had one keep me from more necessary medical treatment that was unavailable through their office just to keep me there. ( I have heard many reasons why chiropracters were given a bad name and I've experienced NOTHING of the sort for 2 decades of dealing w/ them.)

I would still like to hear about others experience w/ muscle soreness and pain, how they dealt w/ it and naturally, the success stories. There's so much going on in my life right now but I am utterly grateful that I can reach for a pv, rather than an analog, to 'calm' my nerves. This forum made the information I needed so much easier to find, and the reviews of products and places have been exceptional.

Thank you all. :)

Over the edge...
I agree 100% with hairball's post. I love PG but it makes me itch, gives me dry skin and muscle cramps. I work out quite a bit so the muscle cramps kinda threw me. Someone on the board suggested switching to VG. I've been vaping almost 100% VG for months now and all of the things I mentioned are gone. Try some 100% VG. It might help you like it did me.

S/thing new to learn! I had not read up on the mixtures as I have enough to take in just starting out, again. I felt that I would get more into mixing my own once I was 'comfortable' enough to move on to the next level, and learning the differences of pg/vg as well as suppliers of nicotine and how to mix it yourself would come later. I think that normally it would, if at all, but after a couple suggestions to go just vg, I think it's definitely s/thing to consider and look into. (And I just placed another order for more of the same but different flavored juices... argh!)

I had not even considered looking up that stuff and it just wasn't really brought to my attention until now. Once again... SO glad for this forum! I look forward to trying this out and will even try to modify my order, considering I just placed it an hour ago @ Hoosierecigsupply.com and the guy is exceptionally easy to deal with. (Shipments are fast as ......., though, lol.)

Ok, so the suggestions about the juice contents were phenomenal and I have some reading to do tonight but I am still open to any other experiences... and I hate to say it, but I procrastinate when it comes to dealing w/ anyone medically involved unless it's just optometry. But, I PROMISE to go within the next couple weeks AND try the 100% veg juice.

Btw - going to the doctor and NOT being fed a bunch of malarkey - and pills - is not on my forte and has been an issue for a while here in a conservative state, just outside a very conservative city (Cincinnati). The level of bias here is astronomical.

Thanks again, fellow vapers!! :p

Maybe some of your issues are from the actual ACT of vaping, rather than the vape. I had a serious injury in my neck/upper back/shoulders years ago. Now, I know when I have been over vaping, because the muscles that hold my pv up to my mouth constantly start to protest! Please note that this isn't the cause of vaping. This is the result of a previous injury.

Are you still having insomnia issues? High nicotine could be part of the reason. It is a common thing with new vapers until they get their nicotine level adjusted correctly. I personally went through that, and learned to start my day with higher nic levels and to reduce the nic content of what I vape in the evenings, before bed. I tend to do more chain vaping then anyway, so I was od-ing right before trying to sleep! hehe

Good luck while you find the correct juice for your needs!
