Hello everyone!

I finally took the plunge. My first time even realizing their was an alternative was a friend whom I saw putting some drops in what I thought was a cig. I wrote it off at first but after watching him do it a couple times.. I asked "what the hell are you doing?". lol.. He explained it to me and showed me how it works. I was still thinking.. "that's ......ed!". lmao..

Well.. fast forward a few months.. I walked into a gas station to pick up a pack of smokes when I saw, behind the counter, they had some e-cigs. Disposable. I dismissed it again. It took a second trip to the same store to finally ask the guy behind the counter about them. Luckily.. he didn't have a clue. That's what made me curious. I bought one. I was really impressed! It tasted like crap but.. from a disposable.. I expected that. It wasn't all that bad though. I puffed on that for the next couple days. Started a few conversations about it and got the gears turning toward this being a real alternative that might just work.

I've been lurking here for about a week now. Researching, reading, etc.. Checked out a few online retailers. Was going to buy something online but made a few calls and found a head shop around here that had a kit. I grossly over paid for the kit but.. I just had to have it. I'm impulsive like that. Don't ask how much I paid because I won't admit to it. lol.. Anyway.. now a proud owner of the Cig2o kit in menthol (which I learned here is just a kr808 with a sticker), I figured it was time to get more involved here and learn. I'm not crazy about the flavor that comes with it. But.. I've read reviews, rants and raves here about the good tastes that are possible. I can't wait to taste some of those.

Thanks for providing this stage. It was cool to find a one stop source for info.

Welcome aboard SiLlY

Don't worry, I won't ask what you paid for the kit, but I can say the KR8 is a decent place to start your e-cig journey. I used one for awhile before passing it along to a coworker. There's a lot of online vendors that sell everything you'll need to keep the KR8 chugging along.

If I were you I'd look into picking up at least one spare batt, some blank cartos and some sample size juices from various vendors to see what suits your taste.

Welcome!

I too got bit by the retail "had-to-have-it-now" bug in the form of one of those SE guys at a mall. Live and learn though, right? Bottom line: If it's something that opened the door for you to enjoy vaping while cutting back on (or eliminating) the analogs, it was worth whatever you paid.

Great to see another join the fold though. 'Grats and welcome!

Thanks! The kit came with a spare batt, 6 menthol cartos and I bought a 5 pack of coffee (18mg), also from cig2o. Also tastes like crap but I figured I could clean them and use other flavors in them.

Yeah, can't wait to try different juices in different variations. I need to find the right combo for me. :)

That's how I justify the gross over payment. In the scheme of things.. worth every penny. ;)

Thank you! :)

I also think about when I paid $3.50 for a pack of cigs, then $4.00, then $5.50, this last year average about $6.40 pack, in PA&MD a few months ago, $7.50-$8.00 and NY visting $10.35 a pack.
And, I didn't think twice about paying....
Nicotine patches- $60 or so (didn't work) (still smoked cigs)
Wellbutrin for a month $120 or so, tried for 3 months (plus the cost of cigs) (didn't work)

When this works and you get off the analogs, the little extra you might have paid for your kit, will just make you chuckle.

Congrats! Looking forward to seeing your banner soon with how many days it's been since you QUIT!!

Thanks texasgranny! I haven't full on quit, yet. I think I might have to up the nicotine on my next batch. I still get cravings for analogs here and there. But.. I have smoked a lot less so far. Bought a pack this morning and by now.. it would be 2/3 gone. I still have pretty much the entire pack. Lovin this!! :D

That was the trick for so many of us in here. You read about how some people put down the analogs when the mailman arrived, but others of us had a more gradual journey. Either way you look at it, the fewer analogs you're puffin' on is a victory... and a victory either large or small is STILL a victory. :)

It took me about 2 weeks to finally smoke that "last" one. I think that part is a personal mind trip we must make as well.
What time frame works for one, might now work for another. Just rememeber, you have a whole support system right here!

After quitting the quitting game with analogs, over the years.. Any progress is definitely victory. Thanks!

Thanks TG! Appreciate the suport!

Welcome and best of luck!

BTW - Texasgranny you got off cheap while in NY. They are almost $11 at most stores near me!!!

True! I was upstate (Saratoga Springs) a year ago for about a year. They where almost 11 then, too. I still bought them without breaking stride. Ugh..

I bought a couple crappy kits before I found the good ones. There's a lot of crap out there, you just have to take the time to read forums like this to find the good devices. I DIY my juice now and it's great, super cheap and lots of flavor options.

This morning I ordered a sampler kit from somewhere.. (can't remember). I'm sure I'll be DIYn it soon. the flavors are definitely attractive. I'm dying for that waffle to get here! lol..

Hi and welcome! Whatever you payed is worth getting off cigarettes! If your unit is a KR808D-1 then a place with filled cartos is Vapor4Life.com - they have two kinds. The premium ones are hot on the lips and supposedly have more TH (throat hit). The Coolcarts should be cooler on the lips and a bit less TH. I think their Coolcarts are the same as Boge cartos for KR808D-1 found elsewhere. Their WOW flavor carts - some are premiums and some are Coolcarts? They also sell 5-packs of empty premium carts and Coolcarts.

Thanks! I'll have to add another folder to my bookmarks. lol.. So many! I'll add these to the top. I ordered from vaporetc.com. They have a sampler set of 5. Was that a good choice?
