Hello all, New Person from SF Bay Area

My name is Jeff and I've been lurking this forum for a few days now so I decided to join. I'm fairly new to vaping but thankfully I have a few friends who have been very helpful in getting me started. I took up smoking a few years ago and I've been having trouble quitting. I was going through a pack of smokes every 2-3 days. 2 of my friends quit with the help of vaporizers so I figured it would be worth a shot. I haven't touched a cigarette since Thanksgiving 11/28. My friend handed me his old eGo 650mah battery with an iSmoka BCC Mega tank attached and a bottle 12mg juice. I haven't looked back since. I think the strength may be a bit high for me though. It's almost an instant head rush. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Jeff, also from the Bay Area here - east bay, to be exact! Congrats on quitting, and welcome!

Maybe try 8mg juice? The head rush may fade, too, you maybe need to get used to it. I know my first day with 24mg was like that, and I got a lot of headaches at first, and it's all cleared up.

Let me know if you need to know where some stores are, if you're in the east bay - there's a couple good ones out here!

Hello and welcome to ecf.

It does sound like the 12mg ejuice is a little too much for you. If you like the juice then the label should say where its from. Go online and order it in a lower nic.
Also, vaping will dry out your mouth, nose and throat, so be sure you have your fav beverage at hand at all times. It also makes the vaping smoother. Since most of the nic is absorbed through your mouth and throat, no need to inhale in order to get the nic in your system. But if you want to inhale, just hold it in for a couple of secs before inhaling. This should help.

Good luck and let us know how it is going.

:)

Thanks for the quick replies.

BillyWJ-What are the odds, I'm actually in the East Bay as well. Hayward to be exact.

Sugar_and_Spice- Thank you for the advice. I have noticed my mouth becoming very dry. I thought it was just me.

You are welcome.
Keeping hydrated is very important with vaping. When I started vaping I had to remind myself to drink, drink, drink. I went thru some awful muscle cramping and realized I was becoming de-hydrated. It was no fun. Good news is the cramping went away rather quickly--within an hour or so after I drank lots of water. One of the first signs was a headache, which I ignored.

vg is hygroscopic meaning that it pulls the moisture from the air, mouth, nose, throat to produce the vapor we see when we vape. Generally referred to as glycerol or glycerin it serves as a humectant and a sweetener.

Sorry, probably more than you wanted to know..

:)

That's good to know. I'll make sure to keep my water handy.
