Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this, only been vaping for about a month now using a Nicstic T
that has had me thoroughly frustrated with how short the battery lasts,
and how often I have to refill.

That in mind, and after reading hundreds of posts on this great forum, I ordered the following today.

eGo-Tank System XXL 1000mAh Starter Kit
With the Low-Resistance atomizers.

Chrome Drip Tip - 510/901

BOMBTANK
2.4-2.6 Resistance

My question to you guys is this, Can you guys see any problems with this set-up? is this all going to connect and work the way I think it will?

Also, any opinions/tips on the individual products and companies would be appreciated.

I recommend some cartomizers too - Boge to start and the 3 ohms ones are easier to learn on

And a syringe but I guess you have one

I always recommend an extra charging cable in case one breaks and LABEL them on the threaded end, both sides, so you don't accidentally charge the slim battery in them. The Ego cables put out 420mA and will damage slim batteries

You will definitely be much happier with your eGo over what you have. In the eGo/Riva category, however, I would have suggested the E-Power as the option with the better batteries that only cost $4 - $5.

You'll be fine with what you ordered , but dormouse is right , when you get a chance , order some carto's . You will find them a lot easier to deal with , than the tanks . Although the tanks , do work for some . For others , they seem to leak a lot . But as wv2win said , you are going to be much happier with that setup , over your original . Completely agree with everyone here. Cartos are much easier to manage than tanks, especially if you plan on vaping more than one flavour. Cartos are a lot easier to carry on your person.

Welcome aboard the vape train! I use the tank system, and it's working fine for me atm. To each his own, you'll find alot of people are different. Some prefer carts, some prefer tanks, and some prefer to drip. It's whatever you like, it's your experience! The fun part is, you get to go on a journey to find that nirvana you like. Don't ask me what that is, you'll find out as soon as you hit that point. And then bam, you'll be one happy camper.

The setup your getting is going to blow the one you have away, by far. Nice choice going with that tank too, the tanks that the ego comes with aren't all that great.

For now, I plan on going with only one flavor, but I am worried about portability. Any tips on dealing with that with a tank?

Any ways to detach/reattach without leakage?

Those are a MUST have for me! I'm vaping one at this very moment. Caution though...if you are a light vapor and don't like a strong, almost harsh TH...stay away. To me, TH is most important so I really like these. I also like the clear because you can actually see when your carto is about to get dry...it's much easier to keep 'em wet.

That is some good advice dormouse, and I will do just that!

And I do have good access to syringes for filling, Walgreens near me sells them for $.25 apiece!

CE2 tanks always seem to be more trouble than they are worth. I watched the Bombtank breakdown video and it looks like quite a bit of work! I'm assuming you bought extra CE2s? Have you considered a carto tank? I have two (a Liquinator and a J-Tank) and I can tell you, they are a hell of a lot less work to break down and rebuild. Sure you have to slot/punch a carto, but you can buy them pre-cut/punched.

Yep...did the same thing with my lil cheapo smoke shop special I started on. I actually found myself doing the same with carts/attys as well. I think you'll really dig the EMDCCs in clear.

I didn't get any extra CE2's
The tank is a bit of an experiment. I'm sure I will have to get some.

As for the carto tanks, I had seen them, just wasn't sure of the differences, and thought they seemed a little more complicated. I'm sure just my ignorance to the subject.

What are the biggest differences/advantages I could expect with a carto tank?

Also, what is the best or most popular style? Liquinator?

Well the biggest difference is that the carto is self contained. You don't have to worry about breaking it apart to get at the pieces you need. You just slide a carto in the tank and you're good, no twirling any wicks or matching up notched rubber bungs, etc that you have to do with CE2s. Also, filling is much easier on a carto tank, you just slide the carto out a bit to make a space and squeeze in the liquid from your bottle. Then you push the carto back up the bottom of the tank. No syringe needed.

From what I've read CE2s will provide a much warmer vape because the heating coil is much closer to the mouthpiece. Also, because the tank just sits over the carto (using rubber o-rings), they can be "slidey", however it isn't a big of a deal as it sounds. My liquinator is a bit slidey, but it tightens up after sitting a minute and is firm enough I can pick up and swing around my Provari just holding the tank. The J-Tank will not move, that sucker is really tight, which is good for peace of mind.

Some people are having problems with certain liquids cracking their tanks, but most tanks are polycarbonate so if a liquid is going to crack a carto tank, it'll crack a CE2 tank as well. I haven't had that problem, yet.

Linquinators seems to be one of the more popular carto tanks. I have a stainless steel one and it's really sweet. However, their customer service leaves MUCH to be desired. There are other carto tanks, but I can only speak for the ones that I own.

I saw the thread on cutting the cartos, seems pretty easy.

How much mileage do you get out of your Mega Duals?

Also, How do you guys transport your tanked vapes? Do you have to dissasemble? cap? etc...

Yep, I said that. If you have a Dremel (or similar device), it's easy enough to do. I slot my own carts, just put a cut-off wheel on the dremel, apply light pressure to the carto for a couple seconds and you have your slot. I do mine at the kitchen table. A pack of cut-off wheels and mandrel are about $10 at Walmart and most dremel kits come with them.

The premium on pre-slotted cartos aren't enough to break the bank, either.

I keep my tanks on my PV, in my pocket or in my cup holder in my car. Standing up or laying on its side, it doesn't matter.
