Hello everybody!

I'm new to the vap scene (and the ECF), having smoked my last cigarette over 24 weeks ago. I recently go into the "tanks" as my friends refer to them. Previously I used blu and logic e-cigs.

My question - am I doing something wrong or are Kanger pro tanks rubbish? I bought a new pro 2 and after only a week or so it really started leaking bad. I viewed some youtube clips and they stated (for the pro tank 2) to use the o-rings included in the package. Well of course the ones I had disappeared. Today, I went out and picked up the pro tank 3. This one is leaking on me as well. And it didn't come with any rings. Any suggestions? I love vaping, but am really starting to get frustrated.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

CJ

Thanks keonee!

Its as tight as I can get it by hand. I'll have to bide my time until I get the o-rings Castle Rat suggested. Hopefully that helps, I can't afford to buy another tank in the near future. Although it does bother me that Kanger ships these things (the Protank 3) without the o-rings that apparently are needed for it to work.

first, make sure they are not knockoffs.
second, check out some detailed youtube reviews on them (pbusardo on youtube always goes way over the top on the detail... i like it!). They usually tare them down and reassemble them on camera, just to make sure you are doing everything correctly.

Welcome to ECF!

hope this helps.

Welcome to the forums CJ. I don't have the full-sized ProTanks (I have a mini PT2), and I've never had any problems. Do make sure that you have o-rings pretty much anywhere something can come unscrewed. Other thing is snug is good, over-tightening can be bad. You could squish/deform o-rings which could contribute to the leaking. Make sure the head is snug, but not over-tight.

Not sure what else, especially without first-hand experience.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge will come along with better suggestions....

Congrats on 6 months :)

Welcome! I had a problem with my protank when I slightly unscrewed the glass part and tore the o-ring seal that is against both ends of the glass. You may think you are taking it all apart, but the glass part is held together by the chimney that is screwed to the drip tip part. The glass seal is silicon and NOT black. So, try to take the chimney and drip tip apart and check the clear seal at both ends of the glass. Don't give up:confused:. It has to be something and my guess, it is not you.

Although I've only been vaping for about 3 or so weeks, that out of all the nice, fancy, tanks that I've purchased (and there's really been too many to mention now), that when I want a no nonsense, solid tank, I grab my ProTank 2. I've read and seen videos from other people stating their Protank 2 leaks, gurgles etc, but mine is simply rock solid and has yet to even slightly leak on me. The only real reason that it's not my primary tank is that it's a very hard draw to me and I like airy tanks with control over the air flow like in the Nautilus and AeroTank mega (of which my Nautilus has never leaked, but I've seen many say that they're Naut does leak, and my AeroTank mega leaks like a sieve if there is anything wrong with the coil, like if it's wet after cleaning the tank). But if I need a tank that I can just grab, drop on the ground on accident etc, then I would grab my Protank 2, mine for some reason is simply rock solid.

Now in all fairness, let me balance out my praise of my Protank 2 with the one con that mine has... The drip tip hole in the top of my tank is too large. The drip tip that came with it used to wobble terribly, then I wound some dental floss around it under the O-ring to push the O-ring out a tiny bit and now it's tight as it should be. I've tried drip tips from other manufacturers, I've tried drip tips that came with some of my other Kanger tanks, and some third party drip tips and they are all too wobbly in my PT2. That's pretty much the only real con to my PT2 thus far. Love that it doesn't leak, love that I've dropped it on hard flooring without damaging it, love the overall look of it, but hate that the mouth opening is overly large to fit drip tips without winding some dental floss around them to keep it tight.
