New here, stumbled across this site about a month ago and finally joined. have found a ton of information. I have been vaping for about 5 months now and love it. I tried it about 6-7 years ago when they sold these really bad rechargeable batteries and a kit with cotton that you filled cartridges with. It was a good idea at the time, but was not worth the hassle, dripping, leaking, batteries dying all the time etc. Now here I am again and loving every minute of it. I was surprised how much the technology grew in a few years.

I now want to start making my own. I am very good with calculations and mixing things. Off topic but I have been making fishing lures specifically rubber worms in various color combinations, I know this is different but precise measurements are precise right? and I don't have to cook anything making vape juice.

Anyway, why does everyone measure in drops, I se a lot of that, wouldn't that vary recipes depending on equipment? why not just use ML plunger types to measure more accurately, forgive my newbiness

Welcome to the ECF family fishking. As you've already learned, there's a ton of information here. If you want to DIY head over to the DIY E-Liquid sub-forum. You'll learn all you need to know there. You can't post there until you have your five posts and the server updates at :25 after the hour but you can read all the stickies and posts (be sure to check out the blogs, too) and then you can ask all the questions you want. Most DIYers do measure with syringes. A few use drops but that can be inaccurate because a drop of PG won't be the same as a drop of VG and droppers vary so much. Read, read and read some more before you try it yourself, and have FUN!

Welcome to ECF ! I use syringes for DIY and measure by ml. Drops are too inconsistent IMO.

Most everyone here uses % & syringes, not drops. For all things DIY head on over to the DIY ELiquid Forum.

Thanks everyone, I will head over and check some other things out. I am excited about making flavors, I know from reading, this is a trial and error kind of thing, but glad to know there is a HUGE resource here. I have mainly been vaping juice from vapeshack808, it seems to suit my taste and I really don't trust the store around me..yes "Store" as in singular..lol. Anyway thanks again, I am sure I will have a million questions, so have some patience with me....
