I had a buddy at work that smoked a Blu Cig and let me try one for a week. I found the experience to be tolerable to get off analogs and decided to give it a go. Through this forum I started investigating which electronic cigarette would be suitable for me as I knew buying the Blu Cigs and the replacement carts would not work for me. I did not like the short battery life of the pen style ecigs, so I thought about buying a Provari as they seemed to be tagged "The Best". I was not about to shell out the money for a Provari however. I did not like the size of tube style ecigs as I was looking for something pocket sized. I then found the electronic cigarette mod style of what is called a bottom feeder which peaked my appeal. So I made the plunge and bought a VMod XL.

I used the VMod XL for about 3 months using the same hybrid atomizer that was included with the device till it finally died on me. The included cartomizer did not work hardly at all! I thought the VMod XL was a good mod and gave a decent amount of vapor. What was nice about the VMod XL was the fact that the entire kit with battery was less than $100.

What I disliked about the VMod XL was the hybrid atomizer was so expensive! So after experiencing the VMod XL and finding that the e cigarette would be a viable solution for me, I started doing more research on bottom feeders. I found a vast amount of different solutions. I first thought about making a mint tin mod that I found some instructions on the forum to make. The safety of the mint tin and how flimsy the tin was going to be turned me off from this solution.

Finally after some more in depth research on the forum and You Tube, I found REOS, and Bogger Box. I liked the look of the Bogger Box and REOS Woodville, but I did not want to have to wait as these mods always seem to be built and bought very fast, and I was afraid I would like be satisfied with the type of wood I would select. So finally I decided to go with REOS as their forum members are very active and helpful.

I'm not familiar with the VMod XL but My guess would be it's Your delivery systems and not the mod itself

I had a hard time selecting which type of REOS I would want to select as they have different variations of variable voltage, a mini, and the grand. I wanted the mini but was afraid the mini battery would not last me an entire work day as sometimes I would work for 10-12 hour days. I decided the Reo Grand was the right one for me and went ahead and picked up the REOmizer2 rebuildable atomizer. Best purchase I have made! It took me 2 tries to find the right coil build for my tastes, first one I made was too hot and harsh on throat hit for me. I ended up going with a 10 wrap 28 g Kanthal for what the forum stated would be about 1.5 ohm. Great mod should last a very long time and now no need to purchase additional atomizers!
