So I stumbled upon this site randomly searching for answers. I've a few questions if anyone could be kind enough as to help me. I've only been vaping for about 2mo. To quit smoking cigarettes, which I have.
So I use a kbox 200 TC with Uwell Crown tank. I use TC with the .15 ni200 coils. Says range 400F - 600F this works for me :)
A friend loaned me a playboy vixen mini tank with ni200 .1 coils. Now my mod does not allow me to adjust wattage or jouls. I cannot find a fahrenheit range for this coil. My mod will run this tank in TC yes? Thanks!

Hhhmmm... The Kbox is supposed to go down to .05Ω in TC mode. I thought originally it might have been limited to .1 and the particular coil you had was just a hair under so it wouldn't fire. It is supposed to work that low. Is it, perhaps, not making contact? BTW, most people, I think, like Ti or SS coils better than Ni.

It works and fires. My crown tank has a listed range of 400F-600F. I can set desired temp range. This Vixen coil ni200 (.1ohm) has no listed range. Anywhere. So the question I'm asking is what is the range? Playboy Vixen Mini ni200 .1 coil
My mod goes 100-600F. I read nickel getting too hot emits toxins. TC protects me from this at highest temp? Guy at my local vape shop says " whatever taste right, man". So I'm at 420F.
I just started vaping recently. I like nickel better than .25 and .5 canthol I believe. I will try titanium and all. Once I read more lol
Thanks.

Kanthal coils can't be run in temperature control mode. They must be run in power/wattage mode.

The coils that come with the crown tank (0.25Ω & 0.5Ω) are stainless steel wire. They can be run in either TC or power mode.

The Playboy replacement nickel coils provides a multitude of airflow options for the Playboy Vixen Sub-Ohm TC Tank. It is made of pure nickel Ni200 heating wire and 100% organic cotton coil, which works best with temperature-controlled mods. Constructed from dual spiral structure, it provides forward-looking design to maximize airflow intake.

Playboy Vixen Replacement Coil Features:

  • Resistance: 0.1ohm
  • Wattage Range: 50-150W
  • Prebuilt with 100% Japanese Organic Cotton
  • High Performance Ni200 Heating Wire
  • Stainless Steel Construction
Compatibility:

Oh really? So my 0.25 and crown coils can be used in wattage 30w-120w OR be used in TC mode? Is that the SUS temp setting on my mod?

It does show temp in Fahrenheit. Why if it's temperature control does it have a wattage range? I can't control that in TC Ni mode. I was trying to figure out what my temperature range was? Ex 400F - 600F. ?

I don't have a KBox 100 TC mod, but I think SuS would indicate stainless steel in TC mode.

You may want to watch some youtube reviews on the KBox 100 TC mod to verify this.

I personally wouldn't touch any product made by them.

Playboy were a junk brand who decided (with no building up of reputation) to get into subohm hardware for profit, seeing a niche in the market. What they say about their products is embarrassing... just a marketing free-for-all with no history at all in the vaping scene other than selling Chinese liquids and low-grade clone hardware.

Stick with your Kanger stuff. :)

Ok thanks. Still learning. Trying to find what I like best. Kanger, crown, smok, playboy tanks is all I have vaped from.

Forgive me @SaintMisfit

It's just one of the weird things about the industry... brands come out of nowhere and suddenly we're all supposed to bow to their experience in the development of the e-cig, because their marketing says so.
A 'left field' piece of hardware is best considered sketchy until proven otherwise. Even then, there are so many fake reviews these days.

Hi also a new member! anyways i do believe the kbox200 can vape stainless steel coils in temp control which means you can vape the .5 and .25 dual ss crown coils in temp control. thought this might be helpful :)
Yea thanks! There's a bit of a language barrier with my local vape sales people. So I'm learning as I go.
