Hello all! :) I'm pretty new to the vaping scene, I recently got myself an EVOD 2 starter kit and have a Mini PT2 v2 on order, I've been vaping for a week or so now. I do have a question though.

Why am I getting such muted flavor when I vape? I got myself some 0 nic Banana Bomb juice from Viper Vape, which I have heard has really good flavor. It smells heavenly in the bottle (think banana cream pie), but when I vape it I barely get a hint of banana on the exhale or if I french inhale. Plenty of great vapor, just no flavor really since the beginning. I am not a former smoker (which I know some frown upon nonsmokers starting to vape, but I use it for my anxiety/depression and to keep me away from drinking and even more so chewing gum until my jaws are sore:oops:). I am very sure it is not vapor's mouth/tongue.

I think the problem may be that I did not let it steep, being excited for my first juice :p but why would it smell so good if it needed to be steeped? I plan on finishing what little is left in my tank right now, switching over to the PT2 v2 and possibly a new juice for a while, then revisit it.

Thank you to all that give input!

Hey, yomo! I'm new to vaping, too. I've been reading everything I've tried to get my hands on about vaping. One thing I did not find out was how long does the e-liquid need to "steep" inside the tank? I don't know, but would like to find out! I will tell you this-I dripped in a new flavor (cherry), and I don't know how long I let it sit before I hit the button to vape! The flavor came through the vapor in my throat!

Hello there! I know that once you drip it inside the tank, you have to let it sit for at least 10 minutes to wick up the juice, but you need to let it sit for a while in the actual bottle before putting it in the tank too, depending on the type of flavor (fruity has the least amount of time I believe while creamy or custardy flavors have the longest steep time). I think that maybe because mine is supposed to be more towards the creamy side that it just needs to sit awhile.

I'm glad you're getting good flavor though! I'm waiting for the day when I figure out what's wrong, fix it, and then get the flavor I've been waiting for! :D

Welcome to the Forum :) I'm not familiar with the brand you are vaping but *most* eliquids do need a good steep before their true flavor potential comes through. Even those that taste great right away usually end up tasting much better after steeping for a couple weeks! I would give yours a bit more time... if you don't find the flavor is better after a couple weeks, maybe look for a different brand.

Thank you! I'll have to buy more than one at a time I suppose so I'll have something to vape on while the others steep well  there's a shop that I plan on going to that I believe has "tester" juices, maybe giving those a try will help me out too.

Welcome! The eliquids steep inside the bottle, not the tank. If a juice does not come pre-steeped, it usually takes about 2 weeks or thereabouts of steeping and up to 4 weeks for some tobacco flavors to steep. But try a little now and then... you might find you like the taste right out of the mailbox, or maybe after just 1 week. When it suits your taste, you're good to go! :)

Most juices that you buy that are already bottled have a Bottled date or Born date on them. Check and see how old the liquid is as it may have already steeped days/weeks sitting in the store. Most on line Venders fresh mix their flavors when you order them and these need steeping. But there is no rule that says that if you like the flavor right out of the box, you can't just dig in and Vape it. Steeping lets the new juices blend togeather to improve the flavor and some improve over a few days to several weeks depending on how complex they are. As for steeping ejuice in the tank, you don't have to do that. If you drip you just need to give a few minutes for the wick to saturate with your juice,a couple minutes should be plenty. For tanks the same thing, if you take a couple puffs without pushing the fire button before you try to vape, it will pull the juice into the wick and you won't burn the wick and get a burnt taste. :2c: :)

I just checked the bottle and did not see a date on it, but I did get it from Viper Vape's website so they probably mixed it fresh. Thanks for the input! I try to do as you said and take a few primer puffs to help get the juice into the wick, hopefully it is just an issue that can be fixed by steeping. :)

When I want to try a juice again after steeping, can I just put a tiny bit into my tank? I've heard you can take the drip tip off and drip a few drops directly onto the atomizer/coil, but I haven't actually seen that done.

I'm not sure? Tanks tend to flood and gurgle if you put juice into the tube directly. but if you have a clean tank and coil just put 1/2 ml in it and let the wick absorb it,that should give you 3 or 4 puffs(maybe more) to try the flavor. The drawback is you have to clean the tank again after just a short vape, and if you vape it too much you could burn the wick before you notice it's out of juice.

Ah I understand, well I might try that, thank you!
