Hey everyone, this is my first time joining a vape forum, im used to being around more people who i can bounce ideas off of. kinda looking forward to this new experience.

i just had a thought about low voltage rda vaping because im still a little green when it comes to building my own coils.
I happened upon a spool of 22g 316l stainless, and being used to 26g, i built a 6/5 wrap dual coil on my Tobeco doge V3 clone (seated nicely on my Kangertech TC75). im used to this build reading at about .16 ohms with the 26g, but it's reading .09 ohms. i know that 36W puts it at 20A, but its 1.8V.
just wondered if it's safe to run at a higher watt, as long as the battery is not getting warm, and if this low voltage could do harm to the battery, as im used to running it at around 2.X volts.
thanks and hello again

We don't know what your battery is, make sure you mention that - it's the important part in this question. Your mod will or will not fire it effectively, so that's secondary.

I'm not the one to give advice on regulated current draw, but I can say that with a set of coils like that, you're going to want WAY more power to get a decent vape. Even if your mod and battery could handle it, your longevity will suffer tremendously.

Your mod will protect you from most issues, but knowing what your battery can and cannot do will better inform future builds.

[EDIT] To answer the voltage bit more directly, don't worry about that. Your mod's board handles all that.

.09 is really low. Anything under .1 generally reads as a short anyway so it may not matter. You may want to go with a larger diameter coil. I often go 3.5mm when I wrap 22ga

Excuse my mech brain, but is (dual) 22ga even practical on a single battery mod? I'm having a hard time imagining a configuration that would vape well and not see our OP swapping out batteries every few minutes.

When I wrap a 6 coil on 3.5mm mandrel I get around a .4 coil, so yes IF you can fit the coils which may not be possible. I don’t wrap many dual coils these days so I missed the fact that it was a dual coil atty

That is a crazy low resistance. I agree with others above that you shouldn't vape it, really. It's really going to put a strain on your mod at that resistance, even if your batteries are great. I'd agree on using larger coils if you can... Some dual build coils do come with an "attachment" that you can block off airflow on one coil (I think) and just build a single coil, or use different gauge wire if you can. You really want to be above .1, and probably a bit above that. Best of luck. Welcome to ECF.
