new to the forum, not new to vaping, new to dripping. I moved along rather quickly to what im now using, a celtic mods slo'jo clone, with a doge v2 rda .2 ohm dual coil build. I need suggestions of things to try. im always looking for something new. the build before this one was a dual parallel .06 ohm. What is the best low resistance wire to use? I've heard a lot about kanthal but from what I gather.. that is high resistance wire. any information is very appreciated.

I love the slojo. Its my daily acutally.

To your questions now...You'll never be done looking into RDAs. I have 10ish and I order a new one at least twice a month just to try out the newest or most innovative products to hit the market. Currently, I have a Lancia RDA on my Slojo and I love it. It has its drawbacks but so does everything else. Flavor is fantastic, thick warm vapor, and respectable clouds. Quad coils, 28ga Kanthal, 6 wraps around a 5/64th bit, puts me at .3 ohms.

Kanthal is the standard now. There are others, Ni200 coming back in a big way thanks the DNA40 chip. But Ni200 is a very low resistance wire, so you need a lot of wraps and it's difficult (more difficult than kanthal) to use. I use 4 different types of kanthal based on what build I want. Welcome down the rabbits hole!

Hey mate, welcome!

You don't want to use low-resistance wire in an RDA, you want a resistance wire because it's the resistance that creates the heat.

Kanthal is generally the best bet, but there's also nichrome, nickel and titanium. Nickel appears to be a nightmare to work with, nichrome has a lower resistance per given size yet gives some a bad taste (a small minority feel it improves it). Titanium is pretty pricey, and I'm ignorant of any benefits beyond DNA40 temp-sensing compatibility. A tazmanian devil named InvisibleHandy should show up and elaborate on titaniums other strengths and weaknesses soon.
