Hi! My name is Dan and Ive smoked since I was 15 and will turn the big 4-0 later this year. I am a light smoker - 3-6 cigarettes in the evening and never even thought about quitting until the realization that Ive been doing this now for 25 years. Last sunday I said ok, I will go 5 days smoke free and then reassess (that was the first time in my 25 years I have ever tried that). I picked up a Blu disposable and couldn't believe how easy this could be - granted i don't smoke a ton but everything in my life is kind of OCD driven like many others here I am sure. Anyway, I was going to get the blu refillable ones until I found this forum and I learned that there were so many better options. I wound up going with the Buck Naked Escape and love it. I know it doesn't have all the bells and whistles but its perfect for me. I tried the Turkish tobacco juice but it was way too sweet so I mix a few drops of it with the flavorless and its perfect!
Anyway, just wanted to say hi. I never thought I could give up smoking and can't believe now that I can. And yes, today is day 6, the day where I 'could' smoke but I choose not to. I will vape instead. These things are a miracle and the backlash against them I don't get at all. Ok, so maybe we don't know exactly the ill effects of vapeing but we DO know the ill effects of smoking and there is no way that this is not a better option.
Lastly, thanks to the moderators and experts for all of the great info! It has been incredibly helpful - especially the newbie sticky threads and the one about the difference between pulling on analogs vs pulling on ecigs was very very helpful.
I know most people on here smoked 2-8x more than me - and to you I say CONGRATULATIONS! Keep it up and great work. It was hard enough for me only smoking in the evenings so I give you all the credit you deserve! All the personal stories on here are very inspiring to those who are 'lurking'... trust me.
