Hello,

I've smoked for most of the last 25 years. During the last few years, I have been smoking about 2-5 ciggs per day, but I have been supplementing with lozenges and occasional patches.

I bought the V2 kit 10 days ago as another means to supplement during vacations, etc. To my surprise, I have yet to smoke another cigarette.

I am wondering about the nicotine mixtures- I have bought some ECBlend Dragon's Blood and I really like the flavor. However, the odor is bothering my husband. He's a non-smoker and I've always smoked outside. I would like to vape inside, but I need a lighter scent.

Sorry for the long post. Great to be here.

Hello roundrock, Welcome to the Forum.:)

Well done! I'm glad you found vaping works for you.;)

I don't have personal experience with Dragon's Blood, the name alone doesn't fill me with great expectations, that said I've read favourable reviews. I have no idea what it would smell like.

All juices have a scent, some are more overpowering than others but they don't linger they tend to dissipate quite fast.
I love everything vanilla, I didn't think vanilla's would have a strong scent until my husband commented on them (non-smoker), he can actually tell which one's are which. Thankfully he likes their scent too which is just as well 'cause I'm not ever going to give those up. On the otherhand, Watermelon Honks! A lot. Many love it, I love the idea of it, but alas it's not one for me no matter how many I try.

Perhaps try a few sweet /candy flavours as see if that bothers him. Sometimes, it's really not about the scent as much as it is vaping indoors. Have you tried vaping in a different room and then seeing if he reacts, or buy a sweet smelling air freshener and test him?

Thanks for the welcome, meli. I think you're right--it's most likely the idea of the vapor clinging to the walls. He's much more facetious than I.

Yes, that's it. I make soap and he's never complained re: the oodles of fragrance and essential oils...

Speaking of which- does the exhaled vapor create a coating on walls and such?

lol, Men! No exhaled vapour doesn't cling to the walls and such. But like many others have noticed a film does tend to appear on the windscreen of the motorcar and computer screens, it tends to be high VG juices mostly, probably because we're in close proximity to the glass. Normal glass cleaner takes care of it and it does take some time to notice it.
In our home I can't say I've noticed film on the windows, I'm not overly ocd about cleaning them either but doing the glove test there's nothing there to speak of.

ive never considered this (im not really allowed to vape inside either atm grrrr) as we a exhaleing a liquid vapor is there a chance if we mainly use in one area a chance of mould groth occuring?

I have a choc and a coffee coming. I did find a thread re: possibility of vapor build-up and read him several reasonable quotes. He seemed to listen or at least, didn't dismiss ideas.

I've also never smoked in my car... Probably won't vape there, but it would be nice to have a quick smoke (whoops- can't say that word anymore, huh) during my lunch break... I teach and have been a SSM.

You'll find many threads on ECF about this. On the whole it's widely accepted that PG does not create film of any nature on glass surfaces etc. nothing I've read confirms build up on walls. PG is an anti-microbial so I doubt it would allow for an environment where bugs or mould could grow.

VG strangely enough does mist up/ fog up/ creates film on glass surfaces. On those surfaces it seems to be most noticeable, I'm not sure how many/ if any people check their walls for VG build up. I'm not a chemist, so I would 'speculate' in mixed PG/VG juices, the PG would counter any negatives if there were any. I'm also not aware of any tests /chemical analysis conducted on this film. I find it odd that with all the research undertaken this film seems to be less of a priority, though the topic does come up on a regular basis.

Thankfully, my Husband was open to the idea of ecigs, as an early adopter he told me about e-cigs when he saw a colleague using them many years ago, back then I scoffed at the idea. How awfully silly of me!
But not all our loved ones react this way and for some it takes a lot of convincing, CASAA have plenty of documentation online to help. The one thing to bear in mind is, he won't be breathing in Nicotine it's not like second hand smoke, vapour doesn't cling/ hang around in the way that smoke does and most importantly it won't be detrimental to his health.;)
