I've been reading for a few months now, ever since starting to vape, and it's time to jump in and get a little wet. So hello, my name is Mick. I'm married. I have two boys. We spend a lot of time at little league games, the park, fishing, traveling, and a whole lot of other crap. As for the nicotine addiction, I smoked for 13 years. Quit. Started again with a cigar a week. That became a few a week. Then more. Cigars are expensive. They also make every single article of clothing and your skin and hair stink. The Wife doesn't like that, nor do co-workers. So, a friend of mine turned me on to vaping. I still don't like that term, btw. Sinister sounding. :) Anyway, I have a few volt batteries from smokeless image. That's how I'm currently getting by, but I'm looking now to get a decent 18650 mod. I still don't have a good understanding of what I'm going to need to maintain with a mod, but that's one reason I'm jumping in here.

That's probably enough for now. Thank you very much for having me.

Welcome to ECF! For an 18650 mod, you have likely seem many mentions of the Lavatube (and its clones) and the Silver Bullet. The Lavatube provides effective variable voltage at an economical price. The Silver Bullet is a very attractive, durable fixed voltage mod. There are many others, but these two are by far the most popular. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Thanks Flyer. I checked out the Lavatube. It's a bit more than I want to spend. I'd like to be around $120, after buying the mod, some carts, charger and at least two batteries. I was even thinking of looking to see if I could find one used. Why not, right? I know some guys, like a good friend of mine who is on this forum (but I won't mention), has many different mods. He's now using the custom-made wick models. We'll see. I really appreciate the info though. There's so much information within this forum, it's almost too much to sift through, but I'll figure something out.
