Hey guys! Figured this would be the best place to formally introduce myself and ask a couple of questions.

I picked up a standard blu starter kit (for $35!) with the variety pack of carts as well as an extra 5-pack of vanilla carts and 2 extra 5-packs of flavors unavailable in stores in my area that I got online. I've read plenty of posts on this forum about blu (and their cons) in the past, but I figured it would be a great gateway vape to get me on my feet and introduce me to the whole experience. I had bought a couple of disposable e-cigs in the past (NJOYs or something similar, I believe) and NJOYed them (ha-ha), but they didn't last NEARLY long enough to be worth the $8 or so I spent on them (maybe a couple hours worth of vaping).

So far, I LOVE my blu, and vaping in general. I went from being a 1+ ppd smoker of Marlboro Reds, to getting a blu a few days back and dropping the standard cigarettes completely. Of course, I have noticed a couple things the blu lacks that I do want in my next vape but, all-in-all I'm extremely happy I made the switch to vaping.

What I'd really appreciate from you guys are some suggestions as to another vape that will suit my needs.

What I'm looking for is another relatively small vape (doesn't have to be nearly as small as the blu/510, but doesn't need to be cigar sized either) with a much longer battery life, refillable cartridges, a look & feel that's not too far away from that of a cigarette or black & mild type of product, the ability to charge on-the-go (needs to be able to charge via USB), and the ability to product a decent amount of vapor at a decent temperature (I enjoy the "burn", per se).

What do you guys smoke or what have you previously smoked that you would reccomend to me? What are some pros and cons of the device? How much did you pay for it and how much could I get one for (my budget is about $100-150 including e-juice and all the needed accessories)?

Also, where do you guys get your e-juice and what manufacturers and fruity or sweet blends would you reccomend? The higher the nicotine content, the better.

I hope to get some good suggestions and soon enough a better vape. Glad I get to finally start posting on your guys' forum as well.

Thanks in advance for any responses, they're all greatly appreciated!

Welcome to ECF and congrats on getting off the stinkies! I would recommend an ego twist for you. It's relatively small, though bigger than your blu. It will offer you USB pass through as well. As far as juice goes....that is an open question. It is different for everyone. I have been vaping for just over a month and have grown fond of mtbakervapor.com. I started mixing my own because the juice I was buying at my local shop had a great smell, but no taste. If you have a b&m that you can visit to sample that would help you out a ton. Just remember, you can always come here for help....it's a great community.

Hi Doc D, Congrats on putting down the cigs! I just recently did the same, and I'm really happy with vaping. In fact I think I enjoy it more. Hope you find the kit that's right for you and your needs. As a noobe, for me I like the kind with a tank that you can fill. It is something new and different, and I like that it does not look for feel exactly the same as a cig. But then everyone has their own style, and things that work for them. All the best to you!

Thanks for all the replies so far guys. Does the iTaste & eGo Twist come with everything included (sans the e-juice) or do I also need to purchase tanks, mouthpieces, etc? Annnd... do the tanks double as mouthpieces? I'm a bit confused about all the parts & pieces to the different vapes. I'm pretty new to everything so feel free to fill me in on the basics!

Size comparision left to right, Sigelei(Ovale)V8, Blu, 650 Mah passthrough Joyetech, 1300 Mah Vision Spinner, Sigelei Zmax mini, Sigelei #8, Segelei Zmax V2, Vamo.

Don't really know of much between the ego and Blu, other than the longer Blu style batteries.

$39.54 iTaste VW V3.0 7-in-1 Variable Voltage Rechargeable 800mAh Electronic Cigarettes Set - vv-3.0 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$15.75 EGO-CE4S Twist 3-in-1 USB Rechargeable 650mAh Electronic Cigarettes Set - black / 2.7

Ego Twist Single Unit Kit

These come with everything but the juice. However having a backup on the PV, (ego,ITaste), and the juice delivery system,(tank, clearo, etc.) is highly recommended. Fasttech is hard to beat price wise, but shipping is usually a week to two weeks. U.S. vendors normally get the item out the door within a day and to you in less than a week.

Thanks for the links & size comparison (which was really helpful) Steve. Are those all yours? And what exactly is a PV? Personal vape? Meaning the unit itself?

Yes to both, they are mine, and PV is personal vaporizer, APV is advanced personal vaporizer, like the Zmaxes, Vamo , V8 is sort of a box APV.

Ah, gotcha.

I'm leaning toward the eGo Twist. A few questions: how durable is it? How long does it last? And how much vapor does it produce with a deep drag? Also, how does it fare in those areas versus the iTaste?

Also, if there are any other vapes around the size of those or smaller that look a little more sleek feel free to mention them. Those two are well under my budget as well, which is awesome, but I'm definitely willing to pay more if there's a more premium vape.

Ego's are a great place to start, another very worthwhile kit to look at is this one from MyVaporStore, you can mix and match Twist/Spinners along with clearos, priced higher but comes with more and they are name brand items.

http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

The Spinners dial is easier to read than the Twist, other than that they are very similar. The other Twist in the earlier post are clones from what I can tell. The ones from MyVaporStore are either Joyetech Twists, or Vision Spinners, depending on what you chose. And with this kit you have backups.

Very general rule of thumb, 100 mah = 1 hour vaping. But that is a very general rule. Ego's are tried and true. Simple, dependable, and when/if you move up to bigger device ego's make a great backup or on the go device.

Check back on your thread, as the day goes on others will chime in with more idea's. Lots of veterans check the new members forum and are more than happy to assist new members with questions.

Thanks again for the link, Steve. Lots of options to choose from. What combination would you recommend that gives me an overall "smaller" size with a moderate to extended battery life? I'm trying to build a combination that will easily fit in my pocket, get me through my work day, and look sleek/professional (I really like all black, that was one of the things that attracted me to the blu.) If you have a nice suggestion as to what combination I should use I'd really appreciate it!

I'm thinking about going with two black Joye eGo-C Twist 900mAh batteries and two black Kanger MT3 cartomizers. Does this seem like a good decision? Will everything hold up well, last long & look sleek?

I'm also considering the eGo Mini!

Sorry, busy day. I thought for sure some others would chime in. That sounds good, you might want to try the Evod as one of cleoromizers, just so you can mix it up a bit and get a better idea of how different clearos perform. You can replace the heads on the Kanger T3's and Evods, so as long as you don't crack the plastic you can keep them going for quite a while.

I believe most decent Ego's last 6 months to a year or more depending on how much you vape them. One thing about Twist and Spinners that other people have reported, they don't like to be dropped. I have dropped my Spinner with no bad effect, but some report the button falls into the device, not good. Mini Ego's are nice, they just don't hold as much charge.

A good number of us who move on to bigger device still have Ego's around. If/when you decide to get a more advanced device, your Ego's will make a nice backup and on the go device. Good luck and happy vaping.

I'm also considering the eGo Mini!

I have an eGo mini in my shirt pocket right now, a 350 mAh battery with a pen cap cartomizer, looks like a fat fountain pen, all matte black on the outside, with a pocket clip. Fits my nerd appearance ... :p

Only problem is when someone says "Let me borrow your pen ?" ...

I truthfully tell them "It has no ink ... " ...
