Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been lurking around and reading and figured why not join in. A little about myself, I used to smoke anywhere from half to a full pack a day of the strongest self rolled menthol's I could make lol. Obviously after a few years this impacted me quite a bit. Getting winded at work from going up a flight of stairs was an every day occurrence. Lifting heavy things, or even small things would leave me huffing and puffing my way through the next few minutes. I could literally hear my heart pounding trying to keep me going. A task so simple as cutting the grass took me an hour or two for a large sized yard and a push mower. As Mark Twain said, "Quitting smoking is the easiest thing in the world, I've done it thousands of times."

I would quit, gain weight, start back up, lose weight, cut back and get edgy. I would be edgy with my wife, my kids, other family members and my friends. At the age of 26 I actually started having heart palpitations but I could NOT quit smoking, even to save my life.

One day at work, a friend of mine came in with a vaporizer. Nothing fancy, just a non vv battery and a top wic tank. He is a diesel mechanic and to see him working without a smoke hanging from his mouth was a rare sight. It had become a literal part of doing his job. He told me to try it out, the local tobacco shop has them for sale. $20.00 and a few minutes later, I had made a life altering decision. Analogs would no longer be a part of my life.

I quit smoking and started vaping ~5 months ago. Its amazing. My lung function has improved so much, and my blood pressure has nose dived back to where I used to be before I started smoking. My doctor was amazed when it came up 110/73. He asked what I had done, and I told him. No food cravings, no edginess, no weight gain. And all from a little vapor.

5 months later and I am still vaping and feeling better and better. The first two months where consumed by the nasty deposits from tobacco being coughed back up. My sense of smell and taste are back to where they used to be. I ran out of juice once and tried a cigarette. I nearly threw up lol. It tasted ssssooo bad.

Anyway, now I am a full time vaper, and I love my current set up of ego ctwist topped with a nautilus mini BVC. I push it to 5 volts using a variety of flavors. My latest and greatest is GWAR's Jizzmogoblin. Its like inhaling a blueberry pancake. :vapor:So let me know what you fine folks are in to, thanks!

TL:DR Quit smoking, started vaping. Health is better!

Hello dioxy, and welcome to ECF and the world of vaping! Congrats on quitting smoking, too! As I tell anyone who will listen, I believe that vaping is the greatest human invention since the wheel. Isn't it just wonderful to breathe and smell and taste again? I'm still not over how much better life is without cigarettes, and how much I enjoy my new hobby of vaping.
It took me several months, but eventually I turned to mechanical mods and rebuildables because they were much cheaper than buying premade coils and disposable batteries. I loved the variable voltage/wattage devices I tried, but found them to be too fragile for the cost. I usually get my juice from Mt. Baker Vapor, but lately I've been looking at ITC Vapes because their prices are about the same. Next time you're over at Mt Baker (I'm assuming that's where you get your GWAR juice) order a bottle of their Caramel Candy, it's insanely tasty.

Vape on!

Welcome. Your story is similar to a lot of people here at the ECF. We all love Vaping, and the positive effects it has had on our individual health. A lot of people may try to tell you 'My Stuff is The Best !', that happens a lot around here. You may even come across this phenomenon called 'Fanboi' and 'Fangal', people who are in a near frenzy over their favorite E-Liquids or Equipment. My advice would be to try multiple Vendors for your E-Liquids. Order sample Packs or small quantities. If you are content with your current eGo C-Twist and Mini Nautilus, then by all means keep using it. Try to find E-Liquids you like first, before spending any great amount on gear. Nothing would suck worse than $1000 or more of unused Vaping Equipment gathering dust six months from now.
Here is a brief list of some of the more popular E-Liquid Vendors. Some are my favorites, some are not. I am not trying to sell you on what I like, but rather I am trying to help you find what you might like. Again, sample sizes and small quantities until you find what you like.
Heather's Heavenly Vapes, Ahlusion, NicoTicket, Mt. Baker Vapors, Highbrow Vapors, AltCig.com, Alice in Vapeland, GoodeJuice, etc.
Do not be discouraged if you find a few you do not like, we've all been there and done that. Good Luck in your search, Vape Happy :vapor:
