Hi everyone,
I am Chris, a vaper from Germany across the pond. I registered here because I noticed that you crazy Ammuricans sometimes vape a lot differently than we (or I, at least) do.
While the basics, of course, are similar, the variables (juice ingredients, voltages, accessories) are often different. In Germany you won't find many people putting 25% flavour into a liquid, for an example, or use oil based flavours at all, or vape at 6-7 volts.
The topic that made me register was a discussion about liquids (errr, I guess "juice" around here) destroying tank systems with polycarbonate tubing, and I wanted to add to that discussion.
My favorite european flavour manufacturer, FlavourArt, (Fumo elettronico - Flavourart. La sartoria degli aromi) distinguishes between flavour that is water-soluable and flavour based on oil or triacetine.
No, I have nothing to do with them other than being a customer.
That is because inhaling vaporized oil is being warned against, plus, triacetine is used as a chemical ingredient to soften plastic, and that seems to be exactly what happens to the tanks that break.
Legislative european regulation of e-liquids is as non existant as your american regulation seems to be, so we vapers took it upon ourselves to let our manufacturers know what we expect of them - using water soluable flavour is one bullet point. Where that is not feasible, for example in flavours that have butter-like aromas (according to FlavourArt), it should be clearly labeled.
I look forward to learn about your ways of vaping, and maybe I can add a little bit of experience into the pool, too.
Cheers,
C
