First off let me say hello, and as of today I'm a new E-CIG believer. Today is my first day of ever using one and I've put the lighter down and started pushing the button.:) So I've been tring to figure out everything I can about my E-Cig and vapors. I own a ego-c twist with a KangerTech T3S. I've saw alot of articles on coils for this model and I've watched videos on how to replace them. My question is how do I know when to replace them. Do they break or will the vapor taste different. I'm sure there might already be a thread out there on these subjects but I couldnt find them. I'm also using Vapor Tech e-liquid, Is this a good liquid, any thoughts? Thanks for the help guys.

Welcome to ECF!! :toast:

When your coil starts to taste bad and / or the vapor is reduced, change it out. There's a bunch of threads around regarding cleaning your coil and re-building them.

E-liquid is all about taste, and everyone has their own favorites out of thousands...
Try a few small samles from various vendors, find what you like best.

Hello :) glad that you put down the cigarettes and picked up the e cig. I know it's time to do a cleaning and a dry burn when the taste starts getting gross. Or burnt tasting. I've had coils just flat out quit working before (many times). The amount of time you get out of coils kind of depends on the type of e liquid you're using. If it's thick vegetable glycerin based or dark in color you'll need to clean or replace more often.

You will know, my friend. It's one of the most horrific, nasty tastes you'll ever encounter. At first, something might be off, but it won't be wrong...you might not even know your coil is turning. Then, it'll just be wrong on every level. I had one go so wrong on me if affected my sense of smell for almost 8 hours.

But, you don't have to go there. Look into rebuilding them if you're the handy type. It takes minimal materials and tools to get started. Once you get the hang of it, a rebuild costs a few pennies and you can replace quite liberally if you like. Maybe wait until you've gone through a couple few coils and are sure you're into the vapor, then give it some serious thought. Be warned, though, it's the gateway to fantastic vaping and at the same time, a lot of money leaving your pocket eventually! ;)

As others have mentioned and you may have discovered, you can clean your coils prior to them being trashed. I swap mine out every couple of days. Wash under hot water, drop in shot glass full of vodka or everclear for 24 and then rinse. Set it aside to dry. Recoiling is pretty easy and there is a wealth of information and video links on the forum.
For flavors you are own your own. I've read members rave about a certain juice and I ordered a sample. I was pretty disappointed that I didn't have the same experience. I put those aside for another day.
