I'm looking at the kanger but i also like the istick
Im just nervous about batteries and i really didnt get any help from my local shop .I felt so old in there with all the 18-21 yr old and very out of place
You're not alone on feeling out of place in the shops where you can't see anything but teenage cloud blowers. Plus, very few of them actually know anything about it. No understanding of Ohm's Law; they just repeat something they tried once and it didn't blow up (sigh). It's a real problem. Still worse, you're in a smallish town-- yes, I've been there-- and you probably don't have a lot of choices unless you head up the highway a bit. No real problem, though, you've got us
You'll do fine with that Kanger. If you buy it bundled with the Subtank, you'll have a good piece of gear. The Subtank has a variety of coils for +ohm or subohm work, plus a building deck so you can coil it yourself. Tanks are handy when you're out and about; you don't have to carry around a bottle of juice and drip all the time; but at home a dripper is very nice. The Subox will do nicely for both jobs.
Vapecrawler tells me the bundles going in the $50 range today, but if you look around you can find mod only. The battery you want for that one is a Samsung 25R or a LG HE2 or HE4. I personally use only Sony VTC4s, but I am a mech modder also and need really powerful batteries and don't like having more than one kind laying around. The VTC4 is probably more battery than you need for the Subox and, as usual, the more powerful ones hold less capacity. Batteries are critical and often counterfeited. Buy them at
Illumn,
Orbtronic or
RTDVapor to get authentic ones, and get at least two so you can charge one and vape the other. For chargers, think Nitecore, Xtar or Efest Luc. I have a Nitecore D4 and an Xtar VC4, both of which I can personally recommend. They are, however, 4-bay chargers which you may not need. Both come in a 2-bay model. Look at the sites I linked you, you can probably find a charger and battery bundle for one price.
Do not buy batteries on eBay, but chargers can be bought there from good sellers safely, if the money works out better for you. Sing out with more questions
