Hi,
I put down my last cigarette 3 1/2 weeks ago and started vaping. After smoking 20+ yrs and trying patches and the famous stop smoking pill ( that nearly killed me ) this is working for me! I came across this forum while trying to educate myself and have found it helpful and humorous at times. So with that I want to say thank you to the veteran vapors who started this and the current vapors who post and share their stories.
Thanks- Leftyandsparky

I do have questions but I'm shy about asking but here goes... I own the kanger evod 2 with 3 protank 3 minis that take the dual coils.
I also ordered a new battery a vision spinner 2
Because the 650 battery that came with the kit did not last all day. I'm want to know what would be a good Rba for the spinner 2 because I like the feel of the skinny batteries compare to the mods. What would be a good tank and rba for me? I don't really want to carry a box all day kind of reminds me of carrying my sons juice box and hot wheels mini cases!

Welcome Lefty, Welcome Sparky. (Just in case there are 2 of you) LOL Glad you found us. We are here to help in any way we can. Just let us know what you need.

Lol ! I'm left handed and my dog is named Sparky and he is always in my craft room with me so for the past 5 yrs when I make quilts I sign them Leftyandsparky since hes always under my sewing table near the presser foot! So since I'm in my craft room I thought it was fitting to sign up as leftyandsparky!

You'll quickly find that RBAs will kill the eGo batteries quicker than the Protanks do. Not to mention, it would be very easy to do a build that would stress the eGo to failure if you weren't careful.

Unfortunately, it's the nature of the eGo style battery. They just don't last all day if you're a heavy user.

So I guess its a juice box ( lol ) I looked at a kanger sub mini but my local b&m does not carry it and they were not all that helpful when i went in there the first time, and they did not educate me on anything and only had low end and cheap no name mods

+1 on the eGo type batteries not being big enough for a dripper. Worse, most drippers do their best work coiled between .5 and 1.2 ohms, and that's asking for more amperage than a spinner type can supply. You really need a bigger mod for that. That said, they're not all gigantic. About 30 watts is the minimum, and most people do not routinely vape over 50ish watts. The iStick 30 is (marginally) competent for that. Better choices would be the Innokin Cool Fire (40 watts) or the Innokin MVP Pro (60 watts) or the Evic VT (60 watts) or the Dovpo 50 (50 watts) in fixed battery mods. The iStick I mentioned is barely bigger than a Bic lighter but, as I said, it on the marginal side for a good dripper. For removable battery mods, look at the Kanger Subox (usually bundled with a very nice tank), the Cloupor Mini Plus or the Sigelei Mini Book. I just ordered a Mini Book for the wife for Christmas. Elev8 Vape has them at $30 with coupon code, but you will need good batteries and a charger if you decide to go removable. I personally like it; I prefer to just slip in a fresh battery over plugging in my mod to charge, and I think the IMR chemistry batteries are safer than the LiPo's common in fixed battery mods. With a dripper, in case you don't know, you'll have to make your own coils or pay your local shop to do it for you. Come and talk to us before buying batteries or jumping into rebuildables. There are safety considerations you need to be aware of.

The iStick mini is my primary mod of use these days. Decent battery life and very, very portable.

While it's not going to pack the punch of a larger mod, for my purposes these things are great.

The battery is self contained. No changing necessary. I have two and they last me for the day (one just doesn't cut it).

You can read up on 'em here: official eleafworld.com - eleaf, ismoka, mini istick,istick20w

Many online and B&M stores carry them. Just a matter of finding the best deal out there. :)

You're not alone on feeling out of place in the shops where you can't see anything but teenage cloud blowers. Plus, very few of them actually know anything about it. No understanding of Ohm's Law; they just repeat something they tried once and it didn't blow up (sigh). It's a real problem. Still worse, you're in a smallish town-- yes, I've been there-- and you probably don't have a lot of choices unless you head up the highway a bit. No real problem, though, you've got us :)

You'll do fine with that Kanger. If you buy it bundled with the Subtank, you'll have a good piece of gear. The Subtank has a variety of coils for +ohm or subohm work, plus a building deck so you can coil it yourself. Tanks are handy when you're out and about; you don't have to carry around a bottle of juice and drip all the time; but at home a dripper is very nice. The Subox will do nicely for both jobs. Vapecrawler tells me the bundles going in the $50 range today, but if you look around you can find mod only. The battery you want for that one is a Samsung 25R or a LG HE2 or HE4. I personally use only Sony VTC4s, but I am a mech modder also and need really powerful batteries and don't like having more than one kind laying around. The VTC4 is probably more battery than you need for the Subox and, as usual, the more powerful ones hold less capacity. Batteries are critical and often counterfeited. Buy them at Illumn, Orbtronic or RTDVapor to get authentic ones, and get at least two so you can charge one and vape the other. For chargers, think Nitecore, Xtar or Efest Luc. I have a Nitecore D4 and an Xtar VC4, both of which I can personally recommend. They are, however, 4-bay chargers which you may not need. Both come in a 2-bay model. Look at the sites I linked you, you can probably find a charger and battery bundle for one price. Do not buy batteries on eBay, but chargers can be bought there from good sellers safely, if the money works out better for you. Sing out with more questions :)

Thank you to everyone that replied. I'm going to read up a little more on the istick mini and the kanger sub mini before deciding but for now I think between 3 batteries and 4 tank I will be ok for few months. I'm still new to this and I'm just trying to stay of cigarettes so for me this is still a day to day struggle since my hubby is still smoking(outside) being in this small town I will most likely head into Tn to get more information and look at what is all out there! Thank you and if any could recommend anything I might need please let me know
Thanks,
Leftyandsparky

howdy! and welcome!

(and hi, neighbor!)

there are some very decent shops just north of you (Mountain Oak Vapors in both Chattanooga and Cleveland, Vintage Vapors in the East Ridge area, Vapor Apothecary in Cleveland)... what you are likely to rapidly find though (at least what I have found...) is that I get MUCH better prices, in general, from some trusted online vendors in regards to gear - but all three of the shops I mentioned are GREAT places to try some juice flavors and get some advice - my experiences with all three of em have been very decent

Thank you! I plan on heading in to Tn for xmas shopping soon so while I'm there I plan on looking into some shops.
Living in the mountains here is very different for me even though I grew up in the deep south, we just moved back from living in Fl for the past 7 yrs and there was a lot of vape shops to go to not so much here. Just trying to navigate my way around on a topic were everyone has a different answer on what you need!
