Okay I really need help with that one. How does mixing a 6mg and a 12mg give you a 9mg?
Is there a place that shows you this?

There probably is, there's a place for most vaping calculations. :p

In this case, mixing the same amount of 6mg and 12mg will give you 9mg.

After a while, it's second nature.

I don't worry about exact mg in liquids. If it's a little strong, I just vape a little less, almost without thinking. I think it's called self titration, where you dose yourself according to need.

I vape as low as 1.5mg and as high as 12mg. Depends on the hardware. If my craving monster shouts at me, I feed him

Okay. So in other words don't over think it. I am not sure if I can that but I will try lol.

The brand is gold seal.

Most people don't know that unless you can't use nickel. I just know now to check the mouth piece to make sure they are plastic.

I also am finding that if I take 2-3 puffs off of the 6mg and the finish with the 0mg I am fine.
howdy! and welcome!

you are in the right place and on the path - the key to the whole vaping adventure is asking questions and finding what works for you :) keep the faith, sister - you will find it very rewarding

there are a LOT of options for drip tips (mouth pieces) available, and with a nickel allergy, might be good to look at some acrylic or glass ones also - to make sure there is NO metal content coming in contact with you... i have been ordering a lot of my drip tips from fasttech (they have a copa trinity clone that works great for me)... delrin (heat resistant plastic polymer) might also be a good option... and there is a supplier here on the forum, Molehill Designs, I think, that makes some gorgeous acrylic ones - and all are 510 compatible (will fit ANY device that takes a 510 drip tip (which the K1 does, I believe)

Umm.. it's pure common sense. If you mix something strong with something weak, it averages.

umm... it could be that being a NEW vaper, as stated in OP, the influx of information has been a bit overwhelming and having had a negative reaction to the metal in a drip tip (that could have had serious repercussions, given the presence of an allergy) the poster wanted to make sure that they understood the process or theory... granted, it may be 'common sense' if you have been mixing for a bit, but for a new vaper it can be a bit daunting

Actually I learned it from mixing fertilizers for gardening -- and yes, it's completely common sense -- it could be learned from cooking just as easily.

Welcome and sure you can. As Andria said, one bottle of 12mg mixed with one bottle of 6mg and then equal amounts poured back into both bottles will equal 2 bottles of 9mg. If you like the juice, see if they have a 0mg bottle and make 6mg since you found 12 way too strong.

and I learned it both cooking professionally as an organic chem lab assistant in school - my point, simply stated, was that with a newer member, the sheer volume of information can be overwhelming at times, and i try to take a supportive approach, to encourage both the new member and the growth of the community

just my 2c - your mileage may vary - vape on, ma'am.

Well, I've always been an extreme doofus at math of any kind, so if it's common sense to me... ???

So! Weird confession but when I read your name I wondered if you made Jam? then I considered asking if you did... However, then I thought of the funniest way to ask that and what came to mind was a funny sound clip that Pete Busardo uses to begin his electronic cigarette reviews on youtube. The clip is of a woman saying "Can I tastes your juice" in a kinda ghetto and funny way, but instead of juice I would say "Can I taste your Jam" lol.... If that makes no sense to you just watch the first few seconds of this video and you will hear the sound bit *facepalm*

Frostino u are the worst flirt i've ever encountered :p

welcome to the forums Jam Lady, and welcome to vaping as a whole!! Congrats on the switch.
I would recommend buying the same flavor at 0 nic from the vape shop.
In-fact, if you tell them that they recommended 12mg Nic without allowing you to 1st try it while at the shop, they should be giving you the 0mg nicotine for $0usd! But if you're not conflict oriented, def buy the flavor at 0mg. ;)

I'm assuming you know about your e-cig, but I'll try to explain it a bit as well. The Aspire K1 kit came with the Aspire K1 "clearomizer tank" for the atomizer, and an Aspire "Ego style" battery, for your Battery. The battery is 900mAh, I'm guessing. As for your 900mAh battery, it should last you 7-9 hours of constant vape time. That isn't enough for a full day, so you'll need to charge it at some point, if you're vaping like a pack-a-day smoker would. I would recommend you buy a 1000+ mAh battery to go with it. (they're longer, but it's worth the batt life!) Otherwise, you're going to be charging more than you're vaping :p lol. As for the K1 ego style battery, it is an "UNregulated" battery... which means, it will start at 4.2 volts and slowly drain to 3.2 volts. The best vape will be from fresh to around 3.7 to 3.5 volts. After that, your vapor will trail-off significantly. IF you would like a battery that STAYS at 4.2 volts, you'll need to buy a "REGULATED" battery. It will STAY at 4.2V til it needs to be charged. Alternatively, you can buy a "Variable-Voltage" regulated battery, and then you can CHOOSE your voltage!! (But this is a whole other can of worms... lol)

As for your Clearomizer Tank (The K1) which is the atomizer thingy that holds your e-liquid, lol... You've got a K1 Clearomizer Tank. These usually come with 1.6 "OHM" coils. The coils wrap around a cotton wick, which soaks up your e-liquid, so the coil can heat-up and vaporize it. IF you are at-all interested in variable-voltage, you will want to head to our variable voltage forum to find out more about "OHMS" and "Coil-RESISTANCE" but for right now, all you need to know, is that YOUR coils are 1.6 ohms, and your battery is 4.2 to 3.2 volts thru-out it's life. Now, "Ohm's Law" dictates, that the "Perfect" vape, is usually somewhere around when your battery's voltage, is just-about 2 or 3x the number of your coil's "ohms" okay? (sry if this is confusing) IF your coils are 1.6ohms (they are) then your best vape, will be around 4.6 to 3.6 volts. So, since your battery is 4.2 volts at full charge, and around 3.2 volts when it stops working, your 1.6 ohm coil is "good" for this unregulated battery. Some would like more power, but, as-long as you are using a high-enough nicotine strength, you will enjoy this combo.

I usually recommend that NEW vapers use 12mg e-liquid, rather than 18 to 24mg e-liquid. A-lot of people are at the camp that believes a "new-vaper/ex-smoker" needs a high nic strength to kick the cigs. I disagree. A new vaper is going to be glued to their vaporizer. It's new, it's fun, it's exciting to quit, and it tastes good, right? So I believe that 12mg is usually perfect for a new vaper that's starting-out on a PV similar to the 1 you purchased. (some new vapers choose ADVANCED PVs, with the capability of choosing your voltage/wattage, and with a "Sub-OHM" coil in their clearomizer tank. This type of set-up demands a LOW mg nicotine, like 4-6mg. But you will be good with a 12mg nicotine, especially if you like "throat hit" which is the kick to your throat we all love so much. You may find yourself going back to 12mg eventually. Until then, just enjoy what works for you!!

If at some point, you decide you want to upgrade to a larger battery size, go with the 1000+ mAh ego battery. If you want to be able to control your voltage for a stronger hit through-out the battery's charge, you can get yourself a "Variable Voltage" ego battery. Just remember what I said about ohms and voltage. (double or triple your voltage, according to the ohms of your current atomizer/tank, and you'll get a great vape!)

Honestly giiiirl, ONE 900mAh battery aint SH*T for a "main PV" lol. I'm just speaking the truth... I definitely recommend you buy yourself another battery, pronto... Get a 1300 or 1400mAh battery. They'll last you 12-14 hours, as-compared to your 7-9 hour 900mAh battery. (Yikes! Idk how I'd make it with ONE 900mAh batt!) loll.

ENJOY your vaping journey, and don't hesitate to ask more questions, either here on the forums, OR, you can always shoot me a Private Message. Just PM me by clicking the name under my little smoking car picture. lol. You should be able to PM me somewhere over there? lol. Have a good day/night and enjoy your new hobby :D

Ummm, ok then, sooo anyway...Busardo's first name is actually Phil. People often think his name is Pete (and it's somewhat misleading I know) because at the beginning of each of his YouTube videos he announces his first initial and last name (same as his user id).

Hello, I am super new to vaping. So much so, that I listened to the guy at the shop and got a 12mg nicotine juice and made myself sick. Slowly feeling better. I am not a heavy smoker but I do smoke a strong cigarette. Could I get the 0mg nicotine e-juice and lower the nicotine levels that way?
I am hoping to learn lots from this form, Any good places to start? Any tips and tricks. I am looking to learn as much as I can

Thank you so much for any help I may get or even find on here. I am sorry if my questions may be silly!

Congrats on your new journey. I wasn't a heavy smoker either (approx 6-8 sticks/day). I didn't smoke the stronger "Reds" but smoked Camel Lights for 20+ years. When I started vaping, my first juice was 12mg too (recommended by the guy at the shop...just like your situation) and it made me nauseous as well. My daily vape is 3mg nic...sometimes less (I make/mix my own juice). I also avoid PG in my juice because it makes me nauseous as well. Others in this thread have offered some good information for you...I expect you'll find your desired vape soon.

I really enjoy it. I was telling my husband last night and he was happy to here I found a place like this to ask my questions and have others to talk with about this. Learning so much.
