Hello fellow vapers!! Ok brief background; I had a massive asthma attack last year (2012), woke up in A&E hooked up to various machines with my partner and family all looking at me as if this was me checking into the big astray in the sky, luckily not this time and I spent the night on the respiratory ward surrounded by mostly fellow smokers with varying smoke related health issues. One thing became very obvious to me as I was chatting to the guys, that if I carried on smoking this is probably where I would be ending my days, the final straw came during that night as the poor guy next to me was in such a bad way he wasn't able to do anything for himself and while the nurses were changing his nappy it was then I decided to stop smoking.

I had given up smoking a few times in the past but those little lung cloggers just kept calling me back, by chance I bumped into a friend who was puffing away on what looked like a cigarette but didn't smell like one after a few questions and a few puffs I was online buying my first E-Cig.

I started off with the SkyCig being new to vaping I didn't know any better and to be fair it served its purpose, but annoyed me for its short battery life and the carts only lasting a few puffs, so back online and discovered ECF which was great so much information and great feedback from so many people so I recently purchased the Ego-C system (the kit in the picture), so far so good easy to use, creates good vapour and easy to maintain.

Well I think its I have a few questions but I won't bore you any further, lol!

Happy vaping, Gavin :)

Congrats, prepare for all the drawbacks of not smoking analogues, such as:

tasting food again - this happened to me after about a month straight of vaping. things that used to taste bland become saltier, sweeter, etc. with more robust flavor

respiratory restoration - after about 3 months, i decided to hit the gym. went from a 9 minute mile to a 7 minute mile, amazing!

no smellz - girlfriend and non smoking friends will appreciate this. My friends who still smoke analogues smell SO BAD now when I ride in the car with them. To think that that's how I used to smell!

*ahem* love life - without breaking any forum rules, this one is pretty self explanatory.

there you have it. congratulations on your decision, and good luck on your journey!

Hi thank you for the positive feedback.

Yeah regaining my taste buds has been awesome discovering new foods I never liked before is good.
As for the respiratory restoration thank god I gave up smoking when I first landed in Australia I found getting around to be a bit of an effort with the heat, so giving up smoking was a good idea its been 73 days since my last analogue and I feel good.
The funny thing is all the years I smoked I HATED the smell and taste stupid huh!

The only rookie error I have made so far was a constant sore throat I had, at first I put it down to giving up smoking, but having read online that vaping can cause a slight irritation and dry mouth I drink a lot more and the sore throat has gone.
