I'm in Chicago too. I've noticed a few others here from Chicagoland area.

Be sure to go to the Chicago Vape Bash in April.

There is a "Chicago Vape Nation" group on Facebook, but they are not that active. Also, I got rid of my FB acct. Not for lack of trying, but it looks like they were active in 2014. They are an inactive group in my opinion. I have a "Chicago Vape Nation" baseball cap that I bought from Level Vape...but, that's it.

I held a Chicago Vape In at the Christkindlemarket, and only one other person showed up. At that, we did not find each other due to the number of ppl there and few vapers present after advertising the meetup for at least 30 FULL DAYS on ECF and VU.

I've emailed and Tweeted: Chicago Alderman, the Mayor's Office, Cook County Commissioners, State of Illinois House Members, Members of Congress, and the Senate. I would not say that I had no effect, but whatever effect I did have was minimal. Vapers and Vape Store Owners nation-wide are being totally disregarded by fools who won elections and think we are more ignorant than cattle.

If you hang out on ECF, there is a lot of information regarding the rules and regulations being passed on to us by all legislative bodies including the FDA.

A good place to get up to date information is the CASAA - Illinois Page.

After six months of my own activity, here is what I can tell you to do. Be active in the ECF community. Email and Tweet to all that I have mentioned. And STOCK UP.

I'm spending as much as I can on raw nicotine and devices ea month. Nicotine will store in a freezer for more than 10yrs, Flavors/PG/VG for at least 3yrs. By next month I'll be spending close to $1,000 per month for supplies that should support me for the next 10yrs. Right now one should assume the worst from the FDA. Few elected officials are working for us, and many in the Democrat Party see the loss of tobacco taxes as devastating to their bottom line. On ECF, most of the talks abt the FDA break down in to two camps, one that is more libertarian and support vaping, and the other Democrats that don't want to discuss the issue b/c it boils down to laws written and enforced by Democrat leadership through the Executive branch (FDA).

Follow me here on ECF and say hello from time to time.

Join Twitter and Tweet to me at @GeneticSequence letting me know who you are. If you use TweetDeck, you can subscribe to my "Vape" Twitter list and get quite a bit of info on vaping there.
