Hello new to the forums and definitely glad I found them! There is so much info on here that I have to read!

Quick question about my ego twist. I just got into vaping with my twist and I really enjoy it, makes analogs taste like trash! Occasionally though on my twist I get a burnt flavor, even with a pretty new carto. It seems to happen when the tank is lower (not so low that it doesn't cover the holes but lower than 1/4 full) Is the level of fluid in the tank in any way affect flavor like this? For some reason I don't think that this is the case but I'm too new to say for sure, any advice and help would be appreciated!

Welcome, I can't really say what is going on. You probably know that a burnt taste is usually associated with a dry carto, or running too high of voltage. But if I understand what you are saying, your setup works fine until your reach a certain level of juice. I don't know if you are using single or dual coil cartos, what the resistance is, what your % of pg to vg is, or if this happens with different carto and juice combinations. I run my tanks low, and I don't have this problem. It might help to know how many holes are in your cartos also. I have read that dual coil might do this because the upper part of the filler doesn't stay wet enough for both coils, but whether that is case or not I really can't say.

I am sure that someone will come along and be far more helpful than I have been.

How many holes do you have in the carto? What kind of carto is it? You may need an extra hole in your carto or two in the carto. What kind of juice are you using? If what the Steve says is causing this, you can add a few drips into the top of the carto. You can also take a couple of pulls without pressing the fire button to get some juice in the carto.

Thanks for the responses!

I am currently using cartos from Vapor Labs. They have 2 holes and I believe are single coil. The tank that I am using I am not sure of the brand it is a plastic tank with black plastic end caps, It was something they had in their display and I do not know the manufacturer. I tend to run the vape at 3.6-3.8 volts. As far as the juice, there is no PV/VG ratio denoted...

I will try the "pull without firing" and adding a few drips to the carto and see if that helps! thanks again for the help

Sounds like your getting a dry burn on the cartos' (really nasty taste). Once they get burnt toss em. The PG/VG ratio makes a big difference in the amount and size of the hole. I punch my own sometimes and also buy these.

I use a 70PG/30VG mix on all my juice. Some don't care for the high PG rate but I got lung problems and can't handle a high VG ratio. Different strokes for different folks.
And BTW Welcome to ECF.

thanks tnt56 I will keep that in mind.

On a side subject I was considering buying a sigelei Zmax V3 flat top Mod from electronicstix.com and was wondering what you thought of their service/ship out time?

I had to drill my hole out quite a bit to keep the coils saturated enough to avoid the burnt nasty taste. I am using dual coil 1.5ohm carto's tho...

Pretty low resistance you are using. Do you like a warm vape? I really do. Took me a while to find what I liked, but the single coil BOGE 2.0 ohm LR carts on standard 3.7V (650mAh or greater) batteries are my preference. I really like them with all my top flavors.
