That's what my mom calls it at least, eccentric, it's either that or the women in my family would have to admit to being a little, or lot, crazy, and we can't do that now can we.

I'm ADHD and Dyslexic (with subgroups of Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia not sure those are spelled right but the first means I have problems writing, and the second is problems in math), I also suffer from reoccurring bouts of severe depression with suicidal ideation's(as my psychiatrist called it), and moderate generalized social anxiety disorder. I'm sure you can see why I prefer eccentric lol. Course these are things that people I meet never learn about me, and even most of the people I grew up with are oblivious to.

I also have chronic bronchitis (non-smoking related), chronic sinusitis, bronchial asthma, arthritis-like problems in my right wrist due to a 4-wheeler accident when I was 14, wrecked knees from playing soccer, and a weak ankle that has been severely sprained 13 time, and pains in my joints that the doctors say are a figment of my imagination, high cholesterol, severe migraines, and TMD.

Don't ya just love being broken?:oops: It's kinda nice knowing I'm not the only broken one around. I love to vape, when it has nic in it it clears my mind and I can concentrate, and when it doesn't it it keeps me from clenching my jaw.

So that's just my little intro, lol.

Kelly! You have one of each..you fit right in!! Glad to see you. Post what you like and join on in anywhere. We are here for you.
I don't know about all the dys- stuff but I have dysspellia! That and my finger was broken as a kid and didn't heal right so I tend to hit keys kind of sideways! My spellcheck on my e-mail is worn out.:)
I can't stand Dr.s who tell you things are in your head..so where else should they be? You know your own body, if you say something is wrong..well check for it and stop pcyhcoanalizing me! Mom complained of leg pain, they gave her pills for nerves. It turned out to be phlebitis and her legs were swollen so bad they air lifted her to Houston for treatment. They had at that time the best clot treatments. So much for nerves.

My 2nd daughter is Double-deficit Dyslexic--subtypes: Dysphonetic dyslexia, meaning she has problems with word attack skills, phonetics and blending and Dysnomia meaning she has word retrieval difficulty.

I understand some of what you speak of. Having two subtypes, possibly more is considered particularly severe. Then top that off with the fact that she's 13 and in the middle of puberty...she's got issues.

Family is important and it sounds like your family accepts you as is. Eccentricities and all. :)

My mom and one of my sisters are ADHD (I don't have hyperactivity, my sister is borderline, and mom is full hyperactive). My mom and both of my sisters have depression, and my mom has an anxiety disorder as well. So we're all a bit nuts, but we're fun. I'm def the oddball though lol (btw I only ever put def because I cannot spell the full word for anything and spell checker always changes it to defiantly.) I also have a slight problem with occasional stuttering, it's the little words that get me, and usually just when I get stressed or excited lol.

I don't like doctors, for most of my mom's life they told her the pain caused by her crohn's was all in her head; then they tried the hit and miss treatment method, that just made things worse, I was in high school before one of them figured it out. So I take anything the doc's say with a grain of salt.
