Hello from Australia - new to this

Hi.
As I can't yet post in the Australian forum, I'll have to post here.
I smoke 8mg cigarettes but would like to try e-cigs.
But I'm confused about what to get and where to get it.
Can anybody point me in the right direction about what e-cig to buy, and what strength of juice (or whatever it is) I should get?
I don't mind buying outside of Australia.

...to get you started, check out the videos for new members in the sticky section. GREAT information to get you off on the right track. Most people like the Ego as a beginning ecig, but opinions run the entire spectrum. juice strength, and flavors, are subjective and vary from one person to the next.

Once you watch the vids and read a few of the sticky threads, post away....there are a lot of helpful people in this forum. G'day

Forgot some key questions:

How much do (or did) you smoke in a day? The more you smoke, it is generally recommended to start at higher nic to fight off the cravings and then reduce over time as needed.
What flavor cigarette do you prefer (regular vs menthol and full flavor vs light vs ultra light)? This will usually inform how strong a throat hit you require. Throat hit can be manipulated in various ways but most easily by upping nic a little or adding menthol crystals to your liquid if you like that.

Ah...a fellow Aussie, welcome.

There are a few good suppliers here in Aus including one I've used from Victoria. ecigswarehouse.com.au

The only thing you can't buy here is juice containing nicotine so I buy high mg unflavoured juice from China and mix it with local doublers.

Edit: Forgot to say, I used to smoke 1.5 pks of Dunhill Blue (8mg) per day. I now use approx 3ml of 18mg juice/day. First 6 mths I was using 24mg and the last 3 on the 18mg. My weapon of choice is an eGo (or Riva) battery with Boge Soft Tip cartomisers.

Hello again, and sorry it's taken so long to get back here.
At M&M, I smoke between 20 and 25 Peter Jackson Gold 8mg fags a day, and I suppose I like regular flavor.
At clark 8876, I'll have a look at the ecigswarehouse site, and I guess I'll get the same stuff you use.
But are you able to help me out with how I can go about getting the nicotine juice from China please?

I buy a lot of my juices from www.EastMall.net Eastmall International Co.,Ltd Shipping is flat rate $17 and usually 5-10 days to Aus.

They are a registered supplier on ECF Eastmall-ecigarette

Only problem is that they are closed from today for the Chinese New Year. You can place orders but they won't ship until Feb 12.

Hello There!
There is a really cheap E-GO 510 set on Liberty Flights UK or liberty flightsUSA for like $35.00 and that is a great set to start out with because it has a large battery -- like 650mahs or more. The little e-cigs only last like an hour or two at a time -- I wasted a bunch of money on one at a store and used it for like a week, basically until the E-GO I ordered came. a 510 is good to buy because so many items (atomizers, cartomizers, etc) come with that threading.
I love e-cigs and I am surprised by that because I was such a heavy smoker I didn't think it would satisfy me, but it did -- and there was no "getting used to" period at all. I enjoyed it from the first -- and the thing that shocked me most was that it was actually "smoke" -- it wasn't water vapor --- which is what everyone seemed to refer to it as.

G'day getpecked, lived near Casino for a good many years, loved it!!! Lismore, Goonellabah, Alstonville & then Byron Bay but work took me to Casino many times. However, haven't been there since 1990, probably changed some since then!

Scoopy, I used to smoke 8mg Dunhill and started on 26mg juice. A few months later moved to 18mg and that suits me. As getpecked says, don't go lower than 18mg to start and probably get a couple of the 26mg as well.

Flavours? May I suggest to start, 1 each of USA Mix, DkTAB, Coffee, Virginia & Coconut. That should give you approx 5 weeks supply with a couple of flavours away from tobacco. To give you an idea I haven't vaped tobacco flavours for months now, even though I was adamant at the start that tobacco was all I wanted.
