Hi there,

Just a little 'Hello' to everyone on the forum.

I've tried an e-cig and I have to say that I am impressed and I'd like to know more; the "e-cigarette-forum" seemed the most active and aptly titled place to find out more!

I am especially interested in the specifics of purchasing e-cigs in Brunei and the surrounding information, although I'm unable to post in any sub-forums just yet. Also stuff like popular brands, user recommendations and making my own e-liquid - providing I can buy one here - are also paths of interest for me.

Any thoughts and comments are welcome!

:D

Thanks jj2, I figured I should do something like that, I just didn't want to reply with garbage in case its seen as a cheap way to get into other forums.

And in that same vein, I feel I should ask you more questions:

What would you suggest a newbie look into before purchasing?
What brands do you recommend or personally use? (Assuming you're not a supplier yourself)
What is the difference between the e-liquid filled e-cig and the normal cartridge filled e-cig?

Hope you reply so that I can reply!

I'm sort of old school here and started with the model-T stuff so I use mods mainly. There are many mods (DIY or purchase) out there these days from the standard 3.7 to variable. I would recommend at least a standard---you'll love the long battery life.
I'm also not a fan of cartridges. I was dripper (which I still do) until the CE2s came out.

Here's a couple places to do some reading.

Thanks again jj2,

It looks like I have a lot of reading to do!

The technical stuff you said was a bit over my head, but hopefully I'll soon get it.

I do believe I'm leaning toward 'dripping' more than cartridges (I'm an old shisha addict) so it caters to my more experimental side. Although I think I'll leave it until I'm a bit more comfortable with the e-cigs in general.

Thanks classwife!

I would also appreciate your recommendations and also ask why you switched to 'vaping' instead of smoking. Are there any particular issues (read: arguments) I could use to convince others to join me (read: my wife)?

Just a few off the top of my head:
1. you can breathe better (use your imagination)
2. it doesn't stink
3. it is cheaper
4. some vapors actually smell nice
5. you'll regain your taste buds, food will taste better
6. your sense of smell will return (that could be bad too, since smelly things will stink more ) but with renewed smell taste also increases

hi BruneiBuyer..welcome to ECF,U r in right place to get the right infor for e-cig..once to reached 5 posts..u can reply to any forums here..get that under yr belt 1st

What would you suggest a newbie look into before purchasing?
asking what suit U,yr lifestyle..so many types to choose from, but since U want to buy a new model & reliable e-cig..i started with 510T(from totally wicked)..only battery life needs charging every 3-4 hrs(i vape moderately)..my avatar shows U the model i got..but i bought extras from heaven-gifts for my spares(batteries/passthrough e-liquids & cartomizer etc etc)

What is the difference between the e-liquid filled e-cig and the normal cartridge filled e-cig?

e-liquids come in many favours from fruits to tobacco fav juices..if U used pre-filled cartridge it still come with many favs, but limited choice also an expensive way to buy in this format

look into "malaysian forum" when U can post, ask any question encountered by us,asian..i.e buying online from suppliers in China and custom we might encounter..e-cig is the right move for smoker!..hope U can start to vape as soon as possible..i am now happily vaping for 2 months..and my health is much better as time goes by..regards mafig

Thanks mafig, yeah that was the whole reason I was introducing myself, so I can post in the Malaysia forum.

Although I didn't realise I would pass 5 posts so quickly!

Thanks for the recommendations, have you had many problems in Malaysia getting e-cigs? If its tough in Malaysia I can imagine it being nearly impossible here.

no problem for me so far..i got my brother to bring it over when he comes over for holiday to Penang..as i purchased my starter-kit from UK..i also ordered from heaven-gifts for my e-liquids and spares without problem be4..now waiting for my 2nd order to arrive(takes 14 days by registered air-mail)..sometimes in july..regards mafig ps there are ways getting yr e-cig kit & worth the $$ spent as health is priceless..and e-cig is legal and a saviour..cant praise enough, the inventor of e-cig,Mr Hon Lik

Wow Brunie...I kind of quit by accident ! I bought my first kit on a whim ! decided it just tasted better and didn't go buy another carton !! This is after 40+ years of "I enjoy smoking, leave me alone " !!!! My last cig was 3/19/10 !!!

+ 10 on what Sarge said...and the flavors are so helpful !

Wow, for me I thought you'd only need one, as it would replace the "analogue" cigarettes.

However I'm assuming these have been picked up due to the nature of your own curiosity and experimentation with vaping rather than it being a necessity?

pretty much. my wife still uses the riva and ego the rest are mostly my toys though we share.
