Hi everyone,

I quit analoges around 5 weeks ago and moved completly to vaping. Actually I spent a lot more money on vaping hardware than I would have spent on cigarettes but I love it ;)
I'm also trying to make some eliquid by myself but the only taste I like at the Moment is Spearmint, hopefully I'll find some mixing help out here

Welcome to the forum! While I can't really help you with DIY juices, there are lots of people that can help. I can say that at the start of vaping, it will take you some time to figure out what your ideal PV, juice and nic strength should be. At first it may seem you are spending more money than actual cigs, but, after a while, you will notice a savings difference. Good luck!

For DIY start with single flavor mixes. It's nice to have like a 306 LR atomizer to drip the test juices on so you're not cleaning tanks or cartos just to give it a try. Mix up a batch of flavorless juice (Nicotine, VG, PG) in like a 30 ml quantity. Then you can take a small amount out like 1ml and mix in some juice. Try mixing the flavors alone and get a good taste going on (yes, TASTE your flavors before you mix them). Once you have a good idea what you're wanting to do, then mix up a 1ml batch and vape it on the drip atty. Once you find out something that rocks you just go ahead and shake your flavorless juice well and pull of 5ml and mix in the flavor. Remember when you are making 5ml if you are doing 10% flavoring you want to pull off 4.5ml to make room for the flavor or else you'll lessen your nicotine, VG and PG levels as well as end up with an off amount. Double that calculation for 20%. So for the 1ml test you just pull .9ml or .8ml respectively, not the full 1ml, see?

There are many flavor recipes here on the ECF forum and if you get the EJUICEMEUP program (free to download, google's your friend) it comes with recipes as well as lets you save your tried and true recipes. Another nice feature of the program is that it allows you to set a default juice mix for your all day vape so then when you load it, it comes right up with your favorite. This is nice because you can set your nic level, your amount, and your pg/vg mix and then set the flavor percentage to 10 or 20% or whatever you want and then just add your own flavor ratio when you get into multiple flavored juices.

thanks for your tips mate! I think the biggest problem for me is to find a good concentration of flavour for my juice. I'm actually on 10% with Spearmint flavour from FlavourArt and testing with other flavours from Perfumers Apprentice, Helth Cabin, Capella and a few other.

Flavourart and Capella's are the way to go. The Perfumer's Apprentice has a few good flavors but if you just start buying their stuff at random you are going to find upset along the way. Flavors I really like by TPA: Double Chocolate (Clear), Peanut Butter, Black Cherry, Grape Juice, and their blueberry extra is alright. These a few to come to mind. I really hated their tobacco flavors, all of them. Their flavors are the cheapest but they are also hit or miss. Make sure you read some flavor reviews here on the forum (and not their site) before you pull the trigger on TPA.

The problem for me is that I like to keep my juice clear so that it doesn't kill my equipment as fast and I hate artificial coloring. So I have set a high bar for myself.

I would avoid Lorann because they use oils that are hard on your atomizers.

I'm concerned for the countries that have banned them right now. Continental airlines has also banned their use during flights. Germany's health minister has spoken against them last december. My best advice to the OP is to get your wick and coil stocked up and get a solid device like the Vivi Nova and learn how to rebuild it so that if they do go down with a ban you will still be able to build your own atomizer coils and I am pretty sure that, if they did ban it, the liquid nicotine would not be banned there. They can't ban PG or VG or they'd have to throw away 99% of the products in the pharmacy lol.
So, being self sufficient is the best thing we can all do. IF they try to ban us at some point (due to ignorance) then we can still continue on vaping until the day that we decide that it's time to quit altogether. Even if they did ban Niquid you can always learn how to extract it from tobacco. So there really is no way to ban the stuff altogether. That's why we need to learn all we can. It's also why I am outspoken about ECF members learning to DIY and rebuild their own atomizers. Besides, the money you save is tremendous. This stuff isn't rocket science - it's actually really simple. Learn it!
