Hi people. I hope you’re all good and thanks for letting me join your forum.

This is the first vaping forum I’ve joined and I chose ECF because every time I googled a question ECF was almost always the first forum I found on the results and seems to be the best place to find information.

I’m only just coming up to the end of my third week vaping and I’m really glad I’ve made the switch from my old cigarettes. I used to smoke about 15 unfiltered roll ups a day. Since my first e-cigarette order arrived I have finished off the last of my tobacco and have stuck to vaping ever since. I’m not feeling any craving to go back whatsoever so I’m delighted with it.

As I don’t envisage wanting to give up nicotine any time soon I have gone for the 24mg juices and chose to get Nova tanks with a VV battery to try to get the nicest quality vape as well as keep the running costs down as much as I can.

At the moment I’m still playing around with the setup to get everything just how I like it which so far has been lots of fun.

I dare say I’ll have a few questions for the more experienced members and hope to make a few nice friends along the way.

Great to meet you all.

Hi marylin, welcome. That means you're close to your one month anniversary. Unless I have it wrong, one month is the "dinner in a nice restaurant" anniversary. Better book a table now.

That’s a really cool idea. :D I’ll have to think about that one.

Thanks for everyone’s warm kind welcomes.

I’ve actually just bought myself a Vamo mod and found what I thought was a suitable adapter from another site but sadly it doesn’t fit my Nova’s. I think they are possibly clones and the supplier has given me the wrong information about what connector type they have. No biggy though because I’m waiting for two new 3.5ml Vivi Nova’s from a different seller which look like the genuine article and have 510 connectors to fit the Vamo. These ones even have nice purple acrylic tubes which I think look great. I’ll probably start a new thread another day about the connectors on my current Nova’s and post a couple of pics because I’m still not sure what connectors they are.

Initially I wasn’t keen on the harshness of the first cherry flavoured e-liquid I bought which is a PG base. I prefer a nice smooth throat hit which won’t give me a sore throat. I still want high nicotine but it looks like sticking with VG liquids will be the way to go for me. I’ve just bought a VG mixing kit with a few different flavours to play around with to see what I like.

Also I’m gonna have a go at building my own SS mesh wicks and see how good they are on the Nova’s.

Hugs for now. x

Hi Marylin and welcome!

Like you, I started off with a high-nic level juice.

After about a month, I'd dropped down twice, and found my perfect vape rests at 12mg. I found that I vaped FAR more than I ever smoked, so on the higher nic levels I was walking around in a fog, not only in a literal sense :)

Sounds like you're on the right track, and started off with something that works good!

As far as I know novas should fit the vamo as they have a 510 connector. But if they are clones that could be the problem. The first nova tank I got was a clone and leaked like crazy. Once I got some genuine "vision vivi novas" I never had issues again.
I started on 18mg juice but found it wasn't strong enough, so switched up to 24mg and I've been vaping that ever since. Everyone is different as far as nic strength goes, some people can cut down to lower levels over time, while others stick at the same strength - just find what works best for you.

When I made my ever first e-cig purchase just recently I chose JAC Vapour based in Scotland because they had really good reviews and seemed to have a better product selection than the other UK suppliers I looked at. Unfortunately, I seem to have picked on the only Company who don’t have 510 connectors on their Nova tanks. Please see the photo’s below.

I would like to find a suitable adapter to fit them on my Vamo but don’t know what connector type is on these Nova tanks.

JAC Vapour refer to their system as vgo2. I’ve emailed them twice about their connectors and they keep telling me all their cartos, batteries and tanks work on KR808d-1 fittings.

That’s where things seem to start getting complicated because Jac Vapour do not sell adapters to use their Nova’s on a 510 device. Being new to e-cigarettes I just accepted what they told me and looked for someone selling a 510 to KR808d-1 adapter and found one on sale at Liberty Flights .co.uk.

Unfortunately, although the 510 thread on the adapter fits the Vamo the other end is far smaller in diameter than what’s on the Nova tanks I have and although I’ve been searching the interweb trying to identify this connector I haven’t been able to do so yet.

The battery JAC Vapour sold me has ~TWO~ threads in a stepped design. The smaller of these threads is the same diameter (8mm) and pitch as the one on the adapter I bought so looks as though that probably is the KR808d-1 fitting (The first photo has that shown under arrow ‘B’). However, the Nova tanks screw onto the larger thread on the battery (See arrow ‘A’ on first pic). That one measures up at 11.9mm o.d. so looks like a 12mm thread. My Nova tanks just have a 12mm female thread

I would be very grateful if anyone in the know can kindly tell me what the 12mm connector on my Nova’s is called so I can look for a UK company selling a suitable adapter.

The 11.9mm OD thread is the same (or similar size) to the "Ego" threading. Can`t be certain that it is the same pitch though!

Welcome by the way :)

Thank you Vault. I think you are right. I had a suspicion it was possibly ego but couldn't find any information on the web about the dimensions of ego fittings. Now you've told me the diameter looks right I think I'll give that a try. :)
