Finally after 30 years of smoking a pack a day I have gave up on the icky sticks and found my new love of vaping.

Last month on a whim (well I was sick and had a lung infection) I decided to try out the ecig world so I stopped at a local cig shop to buy my first ecig. Of course this place ended up not being the best place to start but I didn't give up (almost did). They started me off with a tiny eGo battery, a really crappy plastic tank and some of the worst eliquid in the world. Not knowing any better I kept going in and buying more of that crap juice until one day I thought I poisoned myself with a juice that I swear was pure ether...

After that day I did some online searching and found a real vape shop about 40 miles away and headed up there. While I was there I picked up an aspire bdc tank and some awesome juice. I made a couple more trips back up there until the last time I was there I was charged $45 for a simple ego twist battery. Not knowing any better I paid for it and was on my way. Once I learned how much I should have really paid for it I did some more online searching and found some much closer vape shops including one only minutes away.

Now that I was on the right track to succeeding in my quest to quit smoking I thought it was time to up the game so I purchased an itazte mvp v2, nautilus mini and nautilus tank. That is the setup that has now made me happy and will keep me from going back to the icky sticks. Oh and the Space Jam Astro also has to take some credit.

In less than a month I have gone from 24mg down to 3-6mg of nicotine and I 'm quickly heading for the 0mg mark. That's my goal and I'm confident I will get there. How long it will take I don't know but as long as I'm off the icky sticks I don't care.

To anyone that is looking to quit smoking and wants to take up vaping I beg you to not make the same mistakes I made and to just fork out the cash for a quality vv/vw mod and quality tank. If you get what worked for me right off the bat I am sure you will succeed in your quest. You can pick up the iStick mod and Nautilus or Nautilus Mini tank for less than $50 on ebay. If nothing else make sure you get a quality good tasting liquid. Seriously try the Space Jam Astro juice.

Sorry my first post was so long winded but I am excited to share my story

Welcome!

Yes, buying from the local (or not so local) B&Ms can be more expensive, and you're not necessarily guaranteed all the equipment is authentic. I have a vape shop around the corner from my house. It was a great place to pick up juices (while I was developing my tastes). I did buy equipment from them early in my journey, but once I found ECF and all the recommendations of other sites, I've been buying most of my goodies online (and only once did I get something that I thought was authentic, but turned out to be clone - still o.k., but a little frustrated that I wasn't more observant.)

I've launched into rebuilding my own coils and making my own juice now. I do have a couple of Nautilus tanks, so in a rare pinch, I'll spend a little more to buy those heads locally.

I chalk it all up to "learning experience", but yes, if we can help future vapers (I'm going to sit down with a buddy this week and hopefully skip him past a bunch of my "diversions" and get him setup decently from the start) avoid some of the pitfalls, then all the better.

I feel like I've pretty well broken even by now, even with all the "errant" purchases. It's all about the fun for me at this point.

Vape on! :vapor:

Hello, neighbor (Hilliard here).

So far around town I have found:

Can't remember the name, but there is a vape shop above the Subway Sandwich in Powell. Chris' maybe?

Alt Smoke on High north of campus.

Buckeye Vapor in Grove City

Poor Boys (soon to be renamed Poor Girl's) on W. Broad St.

Most B&M's cannot really compete on hardware VS online prices. But, it is nice to sit at a juice bar, and try before you buy.

Welcome! Go Bucks! I'm from Central Ohio and new to vaping too. I initially started with the gas station vuse and didn't want to support the big tobacco industry so I purchased a silver bullet and love it. I'm still shopping around for that right juice though without any luck.Take care and good luck on your vaping journey!
