Hello From Salt Lake City, Utah!

Hey guys, my name is Jett. I've been vaping for a little over two months, which is also how long it's been since I've had an analog! After 4 years of smoking, I am amazed at the potential and effectiveness of the E-cig!

I originally started off with an Ego style battery and carto tanks, but have recently moved over to rebuildables and VV twist batteries. The flavor and vapor production is wonderful!
Luckily I have been successful on my first few attempts of wrapping my own coils! I'm curious though, is it really necessary to have a Mod style PV to get the best use out of a rebuildable, or is it down to preference? I haven't seen many with a smaller battery. Also, any tips on making a wrapped coil and wick last longer than a few days? I'm not sure if it's my wraps or if I just need some more experience…?

This is an example of my most recent wrap. 1.2 ohms and wicking nicely! Pomegranate juice is tasting amazing!


Needless to say, I will be forever grateful for being introduced into this lifestyle, and am glad to say I am finally a part of this community here at ECF!

Welcome to the ECF forums Jett! I have been off analogs for almost 6 months and enjoy my new hobby too.

I have since got a mech and a rda doing dual coils. My preference is cotton and micro coils. The flavor and clouds are great.

Here is my single coil on my evic and dual coil on mech. Check you tube for making microcoils.

Single coil is 1/16 bit, 30 gauge, 8/9 wraps, 1.8 ohms with cotton. Dual is 1.6 ohms, 7/8 wraps. Volt meter is your friend.

I'm also from UT (Ogden), the only place on the planet with more vape shops than smoke shops.

It's just preference, the resistance you choose to use will determine which type of PV will work the best.

This coil/wick has been in the saddle for about two months, and it shows, but the performance is still spot on.

Hello and welcome to ECF!

I have a small phoenix RDA that I use on my ego batts. I wrapped a 1.7ohm microcoil and use cotton for a wick and it works well. When I want to change flavors I just pull out the cotton, dry burn and put in a new wick.

SLC Ut here. i gave up smoking last September and haven't looked back
i'm tinkering a little with rebuildables. love Rip Tripper on YouTube and his builds. YouTube is full of Great info. i also have gotten alot of help from the guys in Salt Lake Vapors, they're Super helpful and a wealth of knowledge.

Vape Affliction in the Clearfield area. These are my favorites. Though there are many other good ones around.

What is that topper? I have not seen one with thumb nuts before, that seems like a super bonus idea so you can ditch the tiny screwdriver!

Welcome! Glad to hear you made the switch, from analogs and from cartos to rebuildables
I've only been vaping for about 8 months, but I love it. I'm so glad I made the switch. I don't know how much money I've actually saved, since I can't seem to quit buying gear, but I really enjoy the hobby aspect of vaping, as well as the community that is involved. I'm fortunate enough to have some great B&M's in my area, and have met lots of cool people who share my fondness for rebuilding and rebuildables. Best of luck in your future endeavors, this is a great resource for all your questions.
