*****Long Post Ahead*****
Hi ECF, new guy here attempting to ditch my trusty ol killers, Marlboro Reds, once again! I've been smoke free for 19 days thus far. Allow me to share my experiences ditching the nasty habbit thus far and how I got started. It all started Back in late 2008 when Ecigs seemed rather basic and weren't mainstream, at least to my knowledge. I vaguely remember when I started the Ego battery seemed like the most amazing thing ever. Anyhow, I had a friend that got me into vaping. He was a RYO and clove smoker, and we all know what happened with that. Taxed through the roof and clove cigarettes couldn't be purchased anymore, unless you got those 'cigar' versions. Anyway back to the point, I remember I got my first kit from Madvapes. It brought two ego batteries, and of those ego mega cartomizers with the flat rubber tip, and some ejuice that I'll never forget. It smelled like soy sauce and nearly made me puke.

I persevered and used the setup for about a month. After a month I was fed up with it. I was tired of faulty cartomizers, overfilling, dry hits, user error, maintenance, battery charging, and pretty much everything about vaping. Needless to say I went back to the cowboy killers. I figured "ecigs" were just a fad and not worth the trouble. My friend and I slowly drifted apart due to jobs, life, responsibilities etc. Fast forward to the future, About a month a go I talked to him and we met up for the first time since 2010 to have a few beers and remember the good old days. As we were talking 3 minutes into the conversation I noticed he pulled out from his cargo pocket what looked like a pipe bahmb or some sort of batton that can probably bring a grown man to his knees with one blow. I was baffled an asked, ... IS THAT MAN! he mutters, Vamo, then He fiddles with some buttons, sticks it in his mouth, and let out a huge cloud of fog. John Carpenter would envy him! Curiosity got the best of me and thats how it began, once again.

After about an hour of walking me through the ropes and explaining everything to me and how vaping changed and gotten more advanced, I figured, hell, why not, let me try this again. So, he recommended what he'd get if he was starting this endeavor and wasn't sure if he'd stick with it. I ended up getting a Vision Spinner kit from myvaporstore with the Evod tanks and ordered a seperate Kanger Protank 2 because according to him, plastic tanks are dangerous? with some juices, glass is safer. I got some juice from halo, a tobacco pack and ordered Bobas Bounty, thats his favorite. So far so good. The only problem I ran into was with the Kanger pro tank 2. I washed it as per his reccomendation, and after filling it with juice, I let it sit for about 20 minutes. I didn't like it, it tasted like metal and had a burned taste to it. I spoke to my friend and he explained the workarounds and told me totry changing the original coil first, So, I ended up changing the "coill head" like he said that came with it to a 2.5 Ohm one I got in a 5 pack seperatley, and it works like a charm now.

Apparently the original head was garbage. I also read a power safety chart and that really helped me understand the right voltages to vape at, which has made the experience better. Another snag I ran into was that according to him, Bobas Bounty will be a bit too thick for the tank clearomizers unless I remove a wick from the coil. I'm just learning about the VGA/PGA thing now.Told me to just avoid the complication and get a bridgless atomizer no less than 2.4 ohm with a drip tip and use that instead. So I went ahead and ordered that too. Still waiting for it. So far so good, I haven't smoked one cigarette yet. Lets see if I can go longer than a month this time around. I think I can and probably will, I like this setup alot better than the one back in 2008. Well, thanks for reading guys, I'll be soaking up knowledge and browsing around and probably asking a boatload of questions so I wont have to pester my pal all the time. Cheers!:)

Welcome to ECF and congrats on giving vaping another shot. I believe you will be able to do it this time. And if you like getting into new hobbies, well you found one...lol. There are so many things to look at and try out. But the best part is that you will start feeling better, not to mention smelling better. Never noticed how much I smelled like an ashtray until I started vaping. Wasn't sure I it would work for me, boy was I wrong. Anyway...good luck & VAPE ON:vapor:
