I didn't realize that there were so many options...cheescake flavour??? Maybe I can give up desserts as well! LOL!

Oh, ya don't know the half of it. I've lost two pounds in two months; no desserts and minimal snacking for me.

Ummmm, now that I think about it, I probably lost those two pounds from the multiple trips to the mailbox...

Great advice already given above.

The only thing I would add is that now you have been hopefully steered away from the obvious not-so-good choices, don't overthink it too much, take one of the recommendations above, jump in and just try it.

Everything will make so much more sense once you simply choose SOMETHING, get it home and start to use it. I would say after 3 days of vaping, all the terminology and options and whatnots will start to all make sense in a way that just reading all about it could never do (and I am a MAD researcher-before-buying kind of person).

Life is for leapers!

30 year smoker here, and someone gave me one single vape off of an E-Cig and I knew that very second I had the answer I had been looking for for soooooooo long.

Now, purchasing the right product took a little bit of asking on the forums to get a good fit, but I was given an excellent recommendation by a forum-ite, jumped at it, it was perfect for me and once I had it, everything started to make sense. AAMOF, once I placed the order for my first starter kit, every analog I smoked after that I looked at with disgust and knew my day was coming...very soon.

The minute I got my starter kit in the mail, opened it up and started vaping, I tossed the analogs in the trash and never looked back. I WANTED this to work, I wasn't remotely stand-offish about it, I was ready to jump in and not look back.

You have been given some good recommends above to make a pretty solid choice.

Don't over think it at the beginning and Good Luck!

I guess I can't post there yet. I'm a little confused as to what Canadians do if they want the "juice" with nicotine... I'll never manage without the nicotine in the beginning...Now the complications begin...

GreenhouseOne is in Canada, they are SUPER cheap on atomizers, and do have joose with nicotine in it. I can't vouch for the quality of the liquid, because I haven't used it before, but their atties are just fine for the price.

I still can't post in the Canadian forum, although I have over five posts. I can't send Larktdl a PM either...

I just went through some of the stuff in the ECF library...Gosh, this is more complicated than I thought...It's late, and my brain is tired. I'm off to bed...after I have my cigarette on the patio...Goodnight all!

Hi, I'm fairly new to ecigs as well & was fortunate enough to find ECF before I was in too deep. The forums are a bit much to digest all at once so I will give you my "fellow newb" advice.
I started with what I thought was the cheapest non-disposible ecig I could find to see if i liked it. Skip that step, you'll like it. It is 100% as good as your analog (real) cigarette with 100% less cancer and guilt.
It only took me a few days to realize that I would need a little more than my generic 510 kit (it had 2 batteries & 5 cartridges/atomizers--two of which I broke trying to figure out how they worked). For the same investment I could have had the "Liberty Flights Riva" which is what I am now waiting patiently for. I may eventually want another toy or a pipe, those look cool, but for now the Riva seems like the way to go. Many people here will tell you to buy it, I am another of those people. Pick out a few "juice" flavors you fancy (I didn't even bother with tobacco & I have smoked for 17 years) and you're good to go. Good Luck, hope you continue to post and keep us updated. I know I will, vaping has literally saved my life (probably).

You just have to get approval from a Moderator. Chances are it'll be ready for you by tomorrow.

Ok...Here's the plan. I'm going to order a Riva 510...Here's what I've chosen for juices, from Eco.Vapour.com. I'm in a bit of a rush to order juices, as after today, there will be no nicotine. I'm not sure how much to order in juices. Here's what I've done...how long will that last smoking the equivalent of ten cigs a day....?

    18... 10ml containers...mostly 1.8% Five of those containers are 1.2%

I've chosen five tobacco, ten cherry, and 3 dark choc...

You might want to get at least a little Juice when you order your Riva. It would really be disappointing to have the e-cig but nothing to smoke. From what I gather the flavors are really all preference. I got a few chocolates, some fruits & deserty types from Mad Vapes and they all taste good to me. I'm hoping they will begin to taste even better as my sense of smell and taste returns. One thing I have noticed is that the 11mg juice I bought does seem to hit a little harsh for my tastes (I was a light smoker for the last few years after being fairly heavy for many). This is most likely due to the cheapo PV that I am still using but from what I can gather here at ECF the higher the nicotine content the more "throat hit" or the harsher the drag. No complaints though, the harshness has actually kept me from chain vaping, as I would likely do since it's so fun.

I'm just a tad confused as to how much to order. As I said, it will be impossible to get the nicotine juices after today, here. I want to make sure I have enough to get weaned off nicotine...but I don't want too much sitting in the cupboard that won't be needed. I'd like to allow myself 4 months (at the most) to go to a juice with no nicotine. Will eighteen 10ml containers give me that time, smoking the equivalent of ten cigarettes a day...

It is hard to answer that question. From what I can gather being a newbe myself, is your vaping may actually be different than smoking. For me, 1 ml seems to be equal to a pack of analogs. I was smoking 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day and now vape 1 1/2 to 2 ml a day. I really think that varies by personal vaping habits though. Equipment, and how you vape will raise or lower that estimate. As you want to lower your nic, you can mi what you have with 0 nic of the same flavor. I think I have seen posts referring to calculations to figure how much to mix...maybe a vet can help you out there.

You do not have to rush to buy your juice. I just mentioned that you may get a deal from one particular vendor who has to stop selling nicotine juice per Health Canada. You still have options from other Canadian vendors. And since the Canadian vendors should be aware of the postal strike, they should have an acceptable alternative for shipping. You don't need to test Canada Customs.
