Hi Toddy,

I found shortly after I started using an e-cig that you can refill your cartomizers and its alot cheaper than buying them. Never throw out a cartomizer. You can get e liquids to refill from alot of different sites. Ive been using EC Blends at ecblend.com and ecigexpress.com. My favorite flavors are cinnamon fireball with sweetener, green apple and peppermint candy cane. Best of luck to you!

If you've been quit for 10 years, why start vaping?

That is a good question. I guess I look at it as just something to do, plus I'm a big tech geek and I look at it more like as a toy or a gadget than an actual cigarette. I'll never start smoking regular cigarettes again. I made up my mind a long time ago that I was done with them for good, and I am. About 5 years ago, I decided I'd smoke again for just one week, so I bought a pack of Marlboros. I think I smoked maybe 6 or 7 cigarettes by the end of the week, and then just threw the rest in the trash can.

I've wanted to try out an e-cig for awhile now because I thought they were interesting, but I'd just never bothered with it. Last month I saw the Victory starter kit on sale for $5, and figured what the hell. I miss the relaxation that smoking gives me, but I don't like the smell/taste of tobacco. I figure if I get the non-nicotine cartomizers, I'm just smoking water vapor, right? That's pretty harmless and I can get that nice relaxing after-dinner "smoke" that I used to enjoy. Does that make sense?

Sort if.

Yes, without the nicotine, you won't be reviving your old addiction. Plus the flavors are quite yummy, and it's an enjoyable activity even when I don't feel a craving for nicotine.

However, it would be ENTIRELY too easy to get a juice that had nicotine mixed up with one that didn't. You don't even need to make the mistake, and probably wouldn't be able to tell if a vendor or manufacturer had an 'oops'. Trying out a new flavor that sounds tasty, you order a sample of it in Zero nicotine concentration. The vendor buys in bulk and bottles themselves, so they make their own labels. Accidentally filling from the 12mg supply, they fill and mark your bottle zero nicotine... At 12 ml, you're not likely to notice a nic buzz, but you'll start to feel cravings again almost instantly (which never goes away after quitting).

I'm not saying -don't do it-. I'm saying be thoughtful about possible unintended consequences... If this is a risk level you're ok accepting, then welcome aboard!
.

Also - it's not 'water vapor'. It's propelyne glycol vapor and/or vegeteble glycerine vapor. Thus far, the limited research suggests it's harmless to vape, but there does need to be a great deal of more evidence before such a statement could be made conclusively.

Thanks for clearing it up. :) I'm watching some Youtube videos about making your own liquid and that definitely seems like the way to go! Would you recommend PG or VG, or do you really even notice a difference?

Pg carries flavor better. Vg makes more vapor. Pg hits the throat harder, Vg feels more saturated in the throat. Personally, I'm really liking a blend of the two. I prefer somewhere around 80%PG to 20% VG, or 70/30. I've tried some 60/40, and the taste wasn't there, but I've found that the 100% VG doesn't satisfy my throat hit need.

VG is also thicker, and can have problems wicking fast enough to keep up with an aggressive vaper.
