Hi there,

I am 20 years old and I got given the E-Lites newest model by my Granddad yesterday.

He had used 2 and a bit charges before he quit, which i find amazing as he had smoked for 46 years. Yesterday I tried it out and didn't have one cigarette. But... yes there is a but, I had used 1 new charge up in around about 10 hours. I believe this equates to 40 cigarettes?!

I usually smoke rollies, extra slim filters and around about 10-15 a day. 25g of tobacco would last me around 5-7 days.

I'm not sure if the battery is completely charged or if the charges have somehow dried up as he has had them for a few months now. Not a lot of smoke is being blown back out of my lungs and I have seen videos of people blowing a LOT of smoke.

I would like some recommendations on dosage/techniques for using these E-Lites as I would really like to quit smoking. Being 20 and only smoking for 4 years I think it would be easier done now than later.

Thanks for reading!

Sam.

I just had a look at the E-Lite site. They are charging 8 pounds for two cartomisers! You won't get the equivalent of 40 cigarettes from one cartomiser. My suggestion is that you buy something else. What you pay for a new starter kit will end up cheapert than using E-Lites. There is a UK forum here and they will know some decent UK e-cig vendors.

For some-one smoking 10-15 slim rollies you might want to check out Smokeless Image Volts. If you use the coupon code 10VOLTECF you get 10% off entire the purchase. They are reasonably priced, and their cartomisers are a lot cheaper than E-Lite. $8.99 for 5 at the moment. You can also buy juice and refill them which is even cheaper. You can check out the starter kits here. They have a good reputation on the forum. If you do get them I recommend getting the 78mm. They are nice and slim in the hand too.

There are other options too - some folk like Egos - they are bigger and for you as a relatively light smoker may not be what you need.

I think E-Lites are way over-priced.

Hello & welcome Sam :)

I'm also in the Uk & come across loads of folks that have bought e-lites as a starter kit. As Kiwivap says, there is no way that their cartomisers (tips) last the equivalent of 40 real cigs - more like 10 if you are lucky. And unfortunately, you can't buy compatible spares from any other vendor - E-lites have their own unique thread :( Also with them being a small ciggie lookalike, battery life between charges will be very short.

However, some folks have had success refilling the cartomisers that come with the kit with juice, though I have heard that the bung on the mouth piece end is rather difficult to remove.

You really would do better investing in a new kit IMHO. here is a list of good UK vendors -

Sadly kiwivap, we get so many new members on AAE-C UK that have been taken in by E-lites claims about each tip being the equivalent of 40 real cigs :( At one time, I'm fairly certain they used to have an RN4081 fitting, but they have changed them, so you have to buy refills from E-lites at the over the top prices.

Thanks so much peeps, for the replies.

I have read what you have all said, by charges I meant the tips. I still have a few left, still haven't had a cigarette so they are doing the job for now! I will cut down on these, if I need more I will look into investing!

By the way I got it all for free so nothing out of my pocket! :p

Thanks again, much appreciated!

Sam.

Hey Sam, quite happy i found this thread, as i feel i can be valuable in 2 reasons as a fellow noob. I also live in the UK and started smoking ecigs on Thursday last week. First it was disposables from the garage, said 40 cigs equivalent, the first one lasted me 3.5 hours!!! and i smoked 10 cigs a day so the claims are ludicrous. So i bought a starter kit from Greensmoke similar to elites in that thier carts you can only get from them and again expensive. But i have to say greensmokes are brilliant with good vapour, and yes 10 hours is completely normal, i smoked 10 a day, and a cart on greensmoke would last me about that too so theres nothing wrong there.

Good news is that as soon as i started vaping i havent had a ciggie since AND am not fighting any cravings like i did other methods.

Today i completed my order for a ego twist with some sampler flavours to get me started from a UK vendor who so far have shipped same day and arrived next day! on standard delivery if ordered before 2pm.

If you want any more help from a fellow Britishman who started on cig lookalikes or info let me know :)

Hi there, I bought an E Lite from outside Euston station last July and the damn thing just made me cough a lung up so i didnt even finish one tip! I smoked 15 rollies a day and really wanted to quit.

My mum had a mouth cancer scare and her dentist recomended intellicig. she quit her 40 a day habit in 3 days! I was so impressed I bought the starter kit and that was in October and I havent smoked a ... since. My husband, 3 work colleagues and daughter have also all quit with it.

It's a really nice taste. you can get a starter kit for 30 quid and then buy juice to fill the ends and costs a tenner per bottle which lasted me over a month!

I now have a Totally Wicked Tornado slim in pearl pink which is a bit more robust and I love it.

But seriously lovey, ditch the e-lite and go for Intellicig. If you ring up and speak to Andy he will help you pick the right kit.

Also their liquid is VG (vegetable glycerin) and is pure and produces a LOAD of vapour and no coughing.

You can then buy flavours from wherever to add to it. I have buttered popcorn and strawberry shortcake (yum)

Message me if you want any more info. You're too young to waste your money and health on coffin nails. stick it out hun xx
