Hello all, my name is vincent. I live in New York State and as I am sure some of you know analog cigs are pretty expensive here. My personal favorite are Marlboro Red Soft Packs, they can cost over $10 a pack. Now I feel that quitting smoking and going to e-cigs might be a pretty healthy and cost effective decision. My main question is if anyone has ever ordered from the site e-cigs.com I like the fact that they offer a large variety of e-juice but am a little weary of them because it does kind of seem like they might be a little lower quality. I hope you all can tell me otherwise. Also if it helps I just ordered a Deluxe starter kit form TheSafeCig.com. Seems like a pretty quality item however they are limited to the selection of e-juice, thats why I wonder if the ones from e-cigs.com are quality or not.

Thank you very much

Vince

I was. Pack/pack and a half a day red smoker myself. You're used to a heavy throat hit and heavy nicotine.

My suggestion is to study the forum before you spend any money. I highly suggest a tube mod like an omega or a screwdriver. I went through the whole small cig lookalike thing, then 510 riva for more battery then on to tube mods then bottom feeders. Ecigs are like motorcycles, you outgrow them real quick so you're betternoff going big and fast right out of the chute.

Look at a screwdriver mkii. Large, replaceable batteries that last all day. Also, as a former red smoker myself, I would stay away from cartriges and learn how to drip a 306 low resistance with 24 mG juice. These things will give you the kick you need in order to quit.

Good luck and please know it can be done

Well, though very informative, I don't even see a shop at e-cigs.com

And the deluxe starter kit from thesafecig.com appears to be a KR808D-2 which is not well supported and is the most common "proprietary" rebranded model. It is often rebranded because the general community doesn't not use it so you are locked into getting your supplies from them. That kit is also rather pricey for its contents.

I highly suggest you cancel the safecig order if you can and ornder a 510 or KR808D-1 kit from a forum approved supplier, see the forum suppliers list at the top of the forum. They will be considerably cheaper and there are several different sites that support those models.

Most will advise you to buy ecigs from the equipment manufacturer and juice from juice suppliers. There's an art to the flavoring. Comapnies come and go. I'd suggest buying the smallest samples you can from top suppliers. Gourmet Vapors is having a 50% off sale now until July 4th. You might like their "Red Marble". It's a subtle tobacco with a good TH for me. Tastes vary wildly and it may not be a fit for you at all. KBV (KickBassVapor) has a huge fan base. Be wary of reviews. What is one person's all-day-vape juice is another's skunk juice. There's a section on juice suppliers on ECF. Worth the time to check it out. Good luck.

Hiya Vincent and welcome to the best e-cigarette forum in the World! A lot of folks will chime in and give you advice but I'm too new to give much except to strongly suggest you go to the ECF library forum and read the "The Wonderful World of Vaping" posts by DonDaBoomVape. Reading these will tell you almost everything you need to know to make informed decisions on equipment purchases. Reading those posts sure saved me a bunch of time and money. As far as quitting cigarettes go, e-cigs (or PV's as they're called here) worked for me and I was a 1-1½ pack a day guy for many years. Good luck!

Anything with "safe" or "green" in the name and no model specific numbers that require you to continue to buy from them have for the most part turned out to NOT be good beginner PV's. (personal vaporizers) Better battery models, as some have already mentioned, just work better than those that look just like a cigarette. The Screwdriver, eGo, RIVA, e-power are all better battery PV's and most are the size of a slim cigar. Many of us have moved up to 5 volt and variable volt PV's that provide much better consistency and battery life than any cig sized device. You will also find that manual batteries (small button) are widely preferred on ECF and provide (overall) better performance.

On the other hand, if you are a very light, social only smoker, the safe cig may be all you need.

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

Buy from any ECF rigistered vendor is the best advice I can give you. Suggestions of what kind is up to you. Read the above post threads and do a little homework. Most newbies get starter kits and then when comfortable upgrade....some who are sure vaping for them go straight to a mod....different for all. I began with a simple 510 kit and that was the last day I had a cigarette but after hundreds of dollars I found what has a will keep off them. Good luck on your journey no matter what path you choose.....just QUIT SMOKING CIGARETTES. :)

I think Torque gave you really good advice, you couldn't go wrong following it.

I just wanted to add a note in here for you:

The same day I bought my first starter kit (GreenSmoke), I also joined the forums.

My very first post was very similar to yours, and I got the very same advice:

CANCEL the order, stick like glue to this forum, and follow the advice people give you, it's GOOD advice.

I followed that advice, I immediately canceled my order (Thank God).
And ordered a starter kit that was recommended to me by a forum poster.
Best advice I ever took, saved me a ton of dough, and got me a really good starter kit.

Best of Luck!

I canceled my order and am now debating between a REO Mini and a GLV2. I am kinda thinking the GLV2 is going to be ordered tomorrow after a trip to the bank to cash my paycheck. I am really grateful for the advice as I want an e-cig that will be able to get me to quit rather than spending money on something that I really do not need. My only other question is with this site. http://www.........../shopping/products/18-E-Liquid/ This is the site I originally mean but added an "s" on accident. Basically I am just a little hesitant to order from them as they are located in china and I have seen nothing about them on this site. The biggest reason I would like to order from them is that they have a ton of options, nicotine, PG VG mixes, flavors. Just curious if they sell any good liquid.

As far as the juices go I'd check out this portion of the forum: General E-Liquid Discussion. There are several vendors here which I've checked out and found some pretty fantastic juice! Many of these vendors have what you've mentioned about nic levels, pg/vg variations and some pretty cool flavors out there.

I started out vaping thinking I'd like the fruity flavors, however after getting samples here and there the vanillas, cinnamon, and dessert styled vapes have proven to be more desirable for me at least. The vendors I've bought from have all been extremely good with customer service, shipping times, and have a pretty good reputation here.

There are many good Chinese eliquids. Remember, the Chinese invented PV's and the liquid. Liberty Flights, V4L and Rocky Mountain Vapor and Madvapes are just a few of the suppliers who sell Chinese liquid with many satisfied customers.

If you order juices directly from China, it may come on a slow boat.

There are many US vendors who sell what you are looking for. Almost all will let you specify the nic strength and many let you customize the PG/VG ratio. The good ones get your juice to you in 3 working days or less.

Go to the top of this page and click the "Forum Suppliers" button. Browse through a few. Check out Freedomsmokeusa, Madvapes, Vapor Station, Backwoods Brew, Vapor Bomb. Those are just a few of the many good juice suppliers located right here in the good 'ol US of A.
