I've been vaping for about two years now and am thankful for it as it finally got me off the cigarettes. I joined here because my wife and I have two cats and one of them has recently developed some asthma-like symptoms (spasmodic coughing, sneezing fits, a bit of wheezing, etc.). I took him to the vet and they could not find anything outwardly wrong with him (no infection, fever, or other obvious cause of his sneezing/coughing) and the vet suggested that perhaps there is something we are using in the house (an air freshener, scented litter, etc.) that is causing irritation in our cat's respiratory system. Since we have not introduced any sort of new "product" into the house that I can think of I wondered if my vaping could be the culprit here. I Googled "vaping and pet safety" and found a thread on here that discusses this very thing and offers some potential confirmation that PG could be harmful to cats. I don't know for sure if my vaping is what's causing my cat Monte's respiratory problems, but I am going to stop vaping in the house to see if it makes a difference. If anybody has any similar experiences with vaping and its effects on their pets I'd sure love to hear about it.

For the record, our other cat Zuzu (Monte's sister) is not having any problems, but Monte has always been a bit more sensitive when it comes to his health. It is entirely possible that vaping around pets will not be a problem for most of them, but pets who do have some sensitivities to environmental toxins or irritants could be susceptible. Maybe. I will try and figure this out with our cat.

I also look forward to exploring this site and learning more about vaping. Looks like an informative and useful site.

Thanks!
