Hello!

I hope I don't come off as a complete idiot, but I just had some questions regarding vaping. I have never smoked in my life, though I have grown up around heavy smokers, and a lot of my co-workers smoke too. I've been dealing with high social anxiety (as well as ridiculous amounts of mental stress, since I'm a college student) for several years now, and it sometimes drives me to the point of emotional breakdowns and such. I don't do any illicit or prescription drugs for this problem, but some friends of mine have told me that vaping really helps them with their anxiety and stress. (I realize that results vary from person to person.) I have read a few threads about non-smokers vaping, and there are a lot of mixed responses. I just thought I would throw my own situation out there and get a few opinions.

One of my friends recommended the itaste vv. Assuming that I do decide to try this vaping thing out, does anyone here have this particular model? From my understanding, the particular one I found online comes with a tank. This is probably the dumbest part of my post, but that means I have to purchase the liquid separately and fill it myself, yes? And in regards to the liquid, is there any really reliable and safe site to purchase from? I'd prefer to have non-nicotine liquid, since I am a non-smoker.

Thank you for any input!

*Edit: Forgot to add this in, but could anyone briefly explain things like voltage and resistance? I'm not quite following the articles I'm reading. ^^;;;

There are a lot of people who vape recreationally who were never smokers. Although not advocated as a medical treatment, some people vape flavors to help control appetite, vape to curb ADHD, or lower intestinal disorders.

You are an adult, so you should make an informed decision based on your research whether to begin vaping or not.

To answer your question about e-liquids, they are available in 10ml or 30ml size bottles. They can be had with no nicotine or different levels of nicotine. Most any vapor website sells e-liquid. There are literally hundreds of places to purchase e-liquids. There is a sub-forum here on ECF specifically geared to these liquids. You can Google manufacturer websites and order directly from the manufacturer. Most vape shops also have juice tasting stations to try their flavors prior to purchasing them.

The tanks, or clearomizers, can be easily filled by either removing the top or bottom part of the tank, depending upon the model you get. Most also use replaceable coil heads (for about $3) which will need to be replaced about every 10 - 20 days.

Hi, yes you purchase the liquid seprately. There are numerous places you can order from or even make it yourself if that's something that interests you. I make my own. As far as a device, I highly recommend for a new vapor the innokin mvp2. It also comes with a tank and has a really long lasting battery and you can even charge other things off it! It has variable volts and watts you can customize with each flavor juice to give you the best taste and expirence. The mvp2 is a excellent choice and it won't disapoint.as far as starting to vape to relieve stress, that's something you must decide if it's right for you. I smoked 2 packs a day for over 20 years and vaping helped me quit smoking. I don't see the harm in trying it as long as you stay nicotine free. You don't want to develop a nicotine dependance.

Baditude: I see, thank you for your input! I suppose going to an actual store that specializes in vaping would be a good place to learn more. My local mall has blu kiosks, but from what I'm reading, I'm highly considering the itaste or something of that fashion. I'm assuming you bring in the actual device to try the flavors? I'll definitely look into more brands and models in the mean time.

I believe the itaste comes with three clearomizers? Are these re-usable or do they have to be replaced like the coil heads?

realsis: I will definitely look into that model! And yes, I don't want to get too into it if I can help it. My parents are super addicted to regular cigarettes and neither of them look like they're in the best shape. Like Baditude said, I suppose it would be more recreational and relaxing than anything.

Kim B.: I see! My friend said similar things about it. I saw a v3 kit for a reasonable price, I'm just unsure about the tanks. The options for this particular kit are the Kranger Protanks and Aerotank. I'll be looking into those and the differences. :D

Welcome! Unless you count smoking hookah socially, I was never really a heavy smoker before getting into vaping. I understand how you feel when it comes to being a college student; I'm starting my second year next month :) I also understand that anxiety can be a cruel mistress, so I feel you on that one.

I'm also gonna vouch for the iTaste V3; it was definitely a great purchase :D I also have a Kanger ProTank II and AeroTank mini, and both of them have worked great so far.

Don't worry about sounding like an "idiot"; no one here will judge you or frown upon you! Everyone is here is nice and helpful. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and I hope that whatever you end up getting serves you well! :vapor:

Kim B.: I looked into the iClear and it seems relatively easy to use. Thank you for your help! :D

DuckGooseMan: I'm glad someone is in the same boat as me. ^^; I had some issues in my first semester of college last year, so I'm going back next month and it's pretty hectic, lol. The Kanger ProTank II sounds like a good choice, so I may go for that one since it's an option for the kit I'm looking at now. :3 I guess the only thing that makes me hesitate is telling my bf about it. I usually have things shipped to his address, and we're both generally "goodie two shoes", so I don't really know how to bring it up, haha. He's pretty understanding when it comes to things I really look into though, like drinking and things like that. Thanks for your input. :)

Didn't mean to confuse ya, I was referring to the iTaste vv v3 Starter Kit that comes with 5 iClear clearos. If you're thinking about the vv v3 Express Kit that contains just the vv v3 battery and a USB charger, no clearos, then a mini Pro tank 2 or 3 would be a good choice for a topper, mini Davides look pretty good on them too.

DuckGooseMan: Eh, college sucks. But high school sucks even more, so I can't really complain, haha. And yeah, I mean, getting addicted to nicotine would definitely be a problem for the both of us, but I'm definitely not going down that way. :/

abstrakts: Hello! I actually haven't had the time to watch the second episode of the Gun Gale arc, but the first episode wasn't too spectacular. I really hope it gets better, since I was very disappointed by the Fairy Dance arc last season. D: Nice to meet a fellow SAO fan though! ^^

Kim B.: The site I'm looking at (epuffstore) has the iTaste VV V3.0 kit, which is pictured with the five iClears, but the purchase section forces you to choose another tank? I'm not sure if it doesn't come with the iClear or not. :/

The clearomizer itself will last a long time but some juices will fog, etch, and sometimes crack a plastic tank and the iClears do have plastic tanks. Cinnamon, citrus and pineapple flavors are known for causing potential damage to the tanks. The clearomizer can be easily disassembled and cleaned and the coil can also be soaked in warm water or vodka, dry fired, and reused a time or two, coil life varies depending on the liquid you vape. Here's a video about dry firing the iClear 16. Not the greatest video, but it will give ya a general idea:

As far as liquids go, lots of great sites to visit. My faves are Ahlusion, Good life Vapor, and Giant Vapes for my favorite Suicide Bunny flavors. Alice in Vapeland is a good one too. Taste is subjective, so what I like you may not. Do you have a flavor profile in mind? Are you looking for fruit, bakery, coffee, tea, the list is endless. Explore, try some sample packs from different vendors, and have fun!

DuckGooseMan: Very true. ^^ I don't particularly enjoy my major, but I'm good at the things it involves so I guess I'm pretty dumb for choosing something I dislike, haha. I was actually going to be an art major too, but didn't work out. I'm glad you enjoy your coursework though. :D

Kim B.: Thank you for the video link! I was looking at premiumejuice since they have a pretty big selection of non-nicotine juice. I like fruity flavors, especially apples, as well as strawberries and citrus. Peppermint seems like a pretty general starter flavor so I'd be cool with that. The main thing is that the juice is nicotine free.
