Hi Matt and welcome to ECF.

I too have a subox Mini...I'm wondering if you might just have a flaky coil? You might want to make sure your coil is snug in the base. If the problem persists, try a completely different coil. Also make sure your contacts are all clean and dry.

I imagine the others here will chime in ...ECF is gild mine of info

Cheers,

JD

I know it's a dumb question and anyone else may be able to answer me.
Does the mod have a puff timer that increases as long as the button is held down?

Also OP, do you need to turn the wattage back down after every vape? If so I'd return it if I could or simply retire it.
If it's malfunctioning like that I'd be leery of firing it near my face. Cheers.

If this is happening exactly as you say, then your mod must be malfunctioning.

It doesn't have a TC mode (temperature control for TC coils) so once you've set it it should stay solidly on the setting.

Now, if you were an Octopus and were pressing multiple buttons at once, it could be you, but that's not likely. Or if another number was changing as you vaped, and you were confused, such as a puff timer (??)

Sorry to hear this... be careful if you use it. I think I'd not use it myself.

it does a good vape but just adjust the watts automatically
Sounds like you have it running in temp control mode. Your resistance might vary a little, depending on the coil (stainless steel for example will vary in resistance as it heats) but your watts should stay where you set them in VW mode.

Edit. From the vid it looks like you are in VW mode. Press your wattage adjust buttons, maybe one is stuck?
