Hello to all from a new member. I've been waiting (im)patiently for my KGO to arrive, and it finally did. I'm heading home to start charging it. I'm sure there are instructions with it, but do you just plug or screw the charger in where the cartridges screw in? Also, I've read that I should charge it for 8 hrs, vape for 20 minutes and then charge for 1 more hour. Is that correct?

I'm a long time smoker (1+ PAD). I've tried to quit numerous times with varying success, but each time wound up back where I was. I've tried gum, patches, cold turkey - you name it. My wife just quit (because she had a collapsed lung and had no choice), so I really need to quit for both her sake and my own.

Thanks and I really look forward to participating on the forum. There's a TON of great info here.

Welcome to ECF, Pappy! As for the instructions that say charge even after the light turns green and then again after 20 min. of vaping..I'm pretty sure that is old news and won't matter. Most importantly, as Caridwen stated, don't let the batteries go completely dead before charging them. Here and there isn't going to make a drastic difference, but if you do it consistently, it will hurt the life of the battery. Well, I wish you the best of luck with quitting the ciggies and hope you enjoy vaping as we all do! Take care!

I just received my KGO in the mail today as well! :D How do you know when you should charge the battery? How often should you charge it?

You finally got it! What I do, since I don't use them exclusively, is every two days I will throw one on the charger regardless. You may just keep track of how much liquid you go through before one goes out and then then just keep track of how much you vape and plan accordingly. Also, depending on how much you vape, you may just throw one on the charger each night and just rotate them like that.

Vaped mine dead a couple of times  It will depend on how much you vape as to how long before you need to charge it. The led under the button will start flashing to let you know and a couple of times like I did and you'll recognize the drop in vapor. Now I know at my rate of vaping when I should get it on the charger and switch to the other battery. Just another of those learning curves;)

Ya know..that might not be a bad idea to get out there. A lot of video reviews go with the assumption that the viewer knows what he/she is doing. Doctor Vapor does a lot of videos that do a good job of "how to"..might give him a look up on YouTube. But it can be very overwhelming and daunting at first, especially before you get anything in hand. Once you go through the motions a bit, you won't even know how you were ever confused. Good luck again!

Just as a footnote, I bought two of them (one for me and one for my son), charged them and it didn't take more than 45 minutes for them to fully charge. I left them on the chargers a while and now I'm vaping away and trying different flavors. I'm liking this a lot. Thanks for your help.

Glad you are enjoying everything, Pappy!

I just throw it on if I've been vaping for awhile. It's fine to wait until it's dead, nothing wrong with that. Each battery has x amount of charge cycles. If you don't wait until it's dead it doesn't go through a complete charge cycle so it may last longer. When I first started vaping I was under the impression you were supposed to wait until it was dead to charge it. It will last longer if you don't. Also helps to make sure your battery charger connection is clean. Occasionally get a q-tip and clean it with a little iso-alcohol.
