I'm a student from Minnesota, currently working on my Chemical Dependency Counseling license (LADC, in Minnesota), planning on going to grad school after getting licensed. I work and intern at a treatment center.
My fiance and I recently got into ecigs, around a month and a half ago. I smoked hookah for years after quitting smoking cigs (Tangiers shisha is my personal favorite), but I was starting to get really sick of the dizziness and nausea of inhaling all that carbon monoxide (even with natural coals). I toppled over and twitched for a few minutes around 2 months ago after an epic smoke session, and we decided to give ecigs a try. It wasn't really a try, more of a prolonged ridiculous spending spree. I can smoke in the house, now, at least.
After wasting ridiculous amount of time on those worthless Ego-T type As, (love the batteries, still use them and the Ego passthrough regularly), I started lurking around here a lot more. I just picked up a Lavatube, and between that and my Egos, I am pretty well covered with batteries now.
Cartos and tanks are now my new issue. I hated the Ego tanks, wasting tons of my precious liquid, wicking poorly, and muting the flavor pretty severely. The Joye 510 tanks are ok, same issues but not as bad. Cartridges aren't my thing, too much hassle and mess, and doubly so with dripping. I have 10 of the 6th rev. CE2 clearos sitting on my desk that I am looking forward to trying, but ordered the wrong thread by accident, so now I am waiting for an adapter first. After the headache of trying to make my giantomizers work, I am a little wary of CE2s, though. I love Boge LR single coils and Smoketech dual coils on my Ego batts, but with the voltage limiting on the Lavatube, looks like I'm going to have to order LR for my on the road/at work/school vape (gotta smoke two at once to get a good drag, though), and explore more for what works for me for at home vaping. I was planning on doing that anyways, but its kind of a drag to see how poorly the LR cartos perform on the lavatube. Dripping with it on a 3.0 atomizer is amazing, I'd stick with that if I didn't despise the hassle.
So now I am exploring Map tanks for my tank fix, and not really sure where I'm going to go with cartos on VV. I am a little confused as to if dual coils work well with it or not after reading about the voltage limiting. I am worried about map tanks, too. I like the idea of not having to refill all the time, but I have had horrid luck with all tank systems so far and flavor is THE most important aspect of vaping for me.
Pictures of my current setup below. I have a few bags of tanks and cartridges not shown. Not sure if I will post much, very busy, but I figured I better at least try to contribute after all I have learned from lurking.
