Hello, Thanks, and Help I going to be stranded on analog island!

Just wanted to chime in and say hello and thank you for such a great board. I am 14 days analog free, which is the longest I have gone in 15 yrs. I mainly thank this board as it has had much to with it. All the support and info this community provides is truly amazing.

So everything sounds great, but in two months I am moving to south east asia from USA (my home country). This particular country has no ecig anything and is a veritable analog island; they are $2 a pack. I would love to give up nic altogether but I am not that strong. All the stress leading to the move and then some til I get settled in, which might take a long while if even (really I just love tobacco). So in trying to put together my 1 year shopping list of supplies, I feel a little overwhelmed with the endless amounts of choices and little time. So if you were to be stranded on analog island albeit with electricity for 1 year what would you bring? Sorry if this is a little heavy for a New Members post but I can't post anywhere else and I am freaking out on what I need to get, not to mention pack it all lol. I can just see myself with a couple gallons of casa in my checked bag.

I do have a little bit of vaping experience, 2 years ago I failed on an ego. But with my new ego twist/vivi nova combo I couldn't be happier, which has led me for two weeks being smoke free.

Hiya. If ecigs are not illegal in your new home you can still order online probably. So first thing I'd do is check if you can import juice, etc, and second thing I'd do is check if your fave vendors ship there. Also - if they don't have that country on the list you can email and ask them if they will consider it. I have done that with a vendor who was happy to add my country.

Secondly - buy some back up batts - like about five. Also two or three back up chargers.

Thirdly - get some juice. But first check your local import laws. Some places allow nic juice import but have a quantity limit. If you can order in from online it may be a better look than declaring a ton of juice at customs.

Yea I'd advise you to just order online if possible. Juice does have a soft expiration date where the nicotine starts to degrade.

Thanks for the replys. I will have to look into the import laws which is not a quick search away. I know that unless I have a PO box in my new home I cant get anything. Because there isn't an effective working address system in this country. Also customs can get tricky whether you are legal or not.

I think I got my math right but if I vape 5 ml a day, a gallon should be more than enough for a year. But has anyone ever traveled with that much? Maybe I could get a doctors note for it lol.

Good juice should last 12 months. Maybe take some juice with you and then get a PO Box as soon as you get there. Importing a gallon could be tricky - if you can do it you may be hit with customs charges.

Also - try googling the name of the country and ecigs, or nicotine juice and see what turns up (if you haven't).

Haha wow... You're going on quite the adventure there! If I were to go and assuming I could bring whatever I wanted, I'd bring about 10 boxes of cartomizers, and two gallons of juice for my Volt! I'd also bring an Ecig store, and get very rich!

One more thing to think about - How much liquid you're allowed to carry on a plane. I think it's only carry on luggage that's limited, but just to be safe, check it out...

hi cousinOpey & welcome to ECF..so which asian country U coming to?..except for Singapore as e-cig and e-liquid are banned(they still find a way to get them) all asian countries U will find e-cig and e-liquid use but because it is cheaper to smoke than vape,most will use analogs..so now U need to be self sufficient in e-liquids..this site has a DIY forum..all the ingredient U need for yr e-liquids can be obtained legally (PG,VG all the flavors U want as in food,can be purchased from pharmacy or local bakery supplier)..only tobacco flavors and nicotine U need to get them from USA..so bring yr concentrated nicotine juice and tobacco flavors and U can never run out of e-liquids..good luck and i hope U get to vape when U R in Asia..regards mafig ps my DIY e-liquids..only the nicotine and tobacco flavors i need to buy online..just love to vape all the flavors under the sun..happy vaping

Well I am going to be moving to Nepal. Which a little google reveals that it is possible to get some disposable type ecigs. It would be funny to open a cig store their but the cost of analogs is soo cheap, other then health reasons it would be a hard sell. And I think Nepalis have bigger health issues to deal with then smoking. I have quickly thought about doing it lol

My preference for juice is tobacco. Fruit and bakery flavors are good but can't stand them as an all day vape. Tobacco is what I like and I am curious to try a tea flavored vape. If mixing my own stuff, I just worry about dumping money into some nasty un-vapable juice and given my time. It would be hard to come up with a good juice with no diy knowledge at this time.

Well I am going to be moving to Nepal.

There is a frequent poster from Kathmandu, Nepal on another discussion group to which I belong. He says that there is never, ever any such thing as 24/7 electricity so make sure you have plenty of extra batteries and chargers. It's an ongoing challenge for them to keep their computers going for their graphic design business. He hasn't complained about customs problems but does bring back his expensive electronics with him when visiting the U.S. or Thailand.
